I agree I have a 16' and I can take my wife and 2 grand kids but it is pretty crowded when fishing if I were to do it again I'd get an 18'.
Just go to a boat show. You will get a good deal there. also buy new, seaing how you are new to boating.Less chance of trouble. Also study for your boating safety card for your state. Ricky Sitka
Well for starters it looks like the rod and reel you're usin would be more suited for TROUT. You need to pair up your rods and reels(and line) to the fish you are fishin for. Just Sayin.
Does this rod pass the rod in the car door test. had a car door slam on my eagle claw pole it did not survive. Ricky Sitka
a teleflex system known as a bay star is for motors under 150 hp. Much cheaper than the larger cyl version. Also the hyd lines for the baystar stystem are hard plastic no fittings were as the larger cyls. require a soft hose with fitting built in. Both of these systems can freeze up in the steering tube. As a precaution to this there are grease fiiting that pump grease into the tube some motors do and do not have these fitting. Its safe to let go of the steering wheel with these systems. But you still have to pay attenion to where you are headed. Ricky Sitka
I was taught at mmi to use a impact driver to remove oil drain plugs. For installing the plugs use a large flat blade scewdriver or #3 large phillips and tighten down till tight, this does quite well for the plugs to not loosen up. Ricky Sitka
When I was a kid we would use a hand line and put three small hooks on and put maggots on the hooks. We did quite well with that. Back then we called the kokanee Blue backs. Ricky Sitka
