Where might one find this pond....
Next up should be courtesy on the water while fishing. I can't believe some of the things that have happened while I been on the water.
Just because you spent 50k on your boat and fish some weekend tournament s, that doesn't make special. You're not KVD.
Just a little courtesy and common sense...please.
Have to agree with using blade baits and jigging spoons, I have to say however, I've never fished that deep.
Like the Drotto hitch. As I get older I worry about falling as I launch and retrieve my boat, this may be a solution.
Thanks for the info!
Nice bass! I think I would only go with someone who has experience on that lake. If I'm not mistaken, there has been a few fatal boat accidents on the lake over the last couple of years.
Thanks for the tips, tight lines.
That's a nice carp, congrats!
I always tie on new leaders and rig my rods before I leave. I usually bring 6 rods... hopefully one out six will be the right one.
I'm gonna go against the grain here. The main point of fishing should be enjoyment. If you have spent 4 years joylessly spending time on the water than maybe fishing isn't the hobby for you.
All I'm trying to say is do what makes you happy...I bet the 1 trout was really something though!
I have a Speed Demon on my froggin' rod, great reel. You can cast it a mile, I use 65lb braid and I believe the 9.3 to 1 ratio is the fastest you can get.
I know pros like Kevin VanDam use a similar product. You can find it in the Bass Pro catalog. Also, I use the Livingston crank baits that have the sound modes...they seem to work.
Save your spinning gear! Baitcasters are great but it takes awhile to master all situations. Skipping under docks, casting into the wind, and light weight lures are just a few of the problems we beginners run into.
I have said this before, the fish don't care what type of reel you are using so, use the one that allows you to put the bait where you want the majority of the time.
As for braid, great choice. I use leaders of various floro, sometimes mono, tied with a double uniknot.
Best of luck.
These fishing box subscriptions, in my opinion, are a great idea for new anglers. I started bass fishing 4 years ago and these services not only exposed me to the array of tackle available, but also provided videos on how to fish them.
I did end up cancelling, way too much stuff building up in the garage but, it was fun looking forward to the box each month and I did learn a lot.
Yeah, I was shocked at that difference. A fishing license for fresh water is $12.95, I don't have to register my boat trailer, my boat registration is $25.00 for a 2011 Tracker, and most lakes we launch for free.
On the flip side, the weather sucks lol.
Tight lines my friend.
I grew up fishing in California, trout, catfish, striped bass. The best way I found to deal with all the rules and regulations...I moved to Alabama.
Agreed. I've tried others but Power Pro works best. I haven't tried that newer super slick Power Pro, kind of expensive for me, do you have any experience with it?
