once again the left always accuses the right of things they themselves have done, are doing or will do. so if you want to know what they are up to just pay attention to what they are blaming or accusing others of doing.

I thought that I was going blind in my left eye. .
Couldn’t see my hand in front of my face it was all blurry.
Then I couldn’t find my right eye contact.
Went to the eye doctor and I had put both of the contacts into my left eye. I looked for the right contact and couldn’t find it.
Now my eye is all infected and I have to put drops into the eye every hour because it got an infection.
The left eye still hurts after having two contacts in it.
It was a scary time for awhile when you think that your eye is going blind.

yes I know from experience how unnerving that can be. After a cataract surgery I was left completely blind in one eye when the old lenses fell a part and fell into my eye. luckily after another surgery where another Dr. removed all the fluid from the eye with the stuff that fell into it and then refilled it with a fluid my sight came back for the most part. Still not good by a long shot but not totally black either which I am thankful for.

Well thanks but I haven't started fishing yet this year

funny I'm pretty well packing it up for the winter. I use to fish in the cold rain, and snow but in my old aching bones can't take it any more so I'm just a fair weather fisherman these days. but hope you do well this fall and winter

TR, I must be one of the few on here about never using a mono backing. I just tie on with a double uni knot, pull it tight and have yet to have a slip.

Best part is when eliminating the braid as it wears out that last 50 or so yards is still useable and a immediate change not required until the days end.

Good luck in what ever you choose.

I use 50lb power pro in salt and tie to the spool. work well for me but I'm not surf fishing I'm fishing off a boat not sure if that will make a difference or not

Digger,
Your reply is one I've been waiting for. I leave my shopping cart right at my car, and guess what, some kid, who is doing the very best he can, usually a young guy with Downs Syndrome or some other disability, scurries over to get it. He's got a job & what else is better for him to not be a burden on his family, community, or nation ? Furthermore, he's got self respect. I think that's important too.......

I agree but that is not how it works in real life. a store has to make money to stay in business and to do that they have to be competitive in their pricing so when government mandates a min. wage of $15, $18, and even $20 per hr. to stay competitive with on line shopping they have to cut expenses any way they can which often ends up being cutting the number of employees they have. so bless their little hearts those who think they are helping by raising min. wages more time than not end up getting them layed off which is why there are more self serve check outs, or digital order self order stations at restaurants and so on.

being and staying strong is not the same as preparing for war but being strong makes preparing for war if nessary a lot easier.

So thier self check out cashiers can spend Thanksgiving with family.

Well isn't that so nice of them.

actually I applaud them for closing on Thanksgiving day. I wish all stores would do the same i renember when all stores use to close on Sunday. as for the self check outs I generally think it speeds things up especially if you are just buying a few things. out here Walmart doesn't provide any paper or plastic bags any more so you either have to bring your own or take everything to your cat loose big hazzle but that is in response to our crazy laws out here requiring them to charge fir the bags and ban on single use plastic bags altogeather

....., a fishing blog website is definitely not the place to push religious propaganda.

an yet you are "pushing" your religious beliefs in this very post. So you feel it is your right to state your beliefs but it is not anyone who doesn't agree with you their right to share what they believe? Do you even see a hint of hypocrisy in what you post? on the other hand I believe we all have the right to share what we believe you me and anyone else. I don't care if you agree or not I welcome honest discussion because the truth does not fear being exposed it is falsehoods that need protecting by trying to shut down any disagreement.

Did you nail on a wooden crate to the front and call it a box car?

no but we made "soap box" cars and pushed them down hills and around on the street steered by a rope that turned the front wheels side to side of course no breaks so lots of crashes, I'm surprised as many in my generation made it out of childhood alive

Yep we use to do that.
We would also make a "Singin Button". You get a big button and run a 4 foot string through both of the holed and tie the ends together.
Now you have a button on a loop of string. You divide the loop into two sides so 1/2 is on each side of the button, about a foot on each side.
Now run the loops around each of your middle fingers so the button is stretched out between your hands.
Now make circular motions with your hands so the string twists together.
Then you start pullin your hands apart and together as the string winds and unwinds. The button whirls around and makes a hummin noise. A "Singin Button. "

Yall give it a try.

we use to do that also we would rummage through my grandma's button box to find the biggest buttons we could find. we would get it going real fast and the faster it went the louder and tighter the string would get until sometimes the string would break

Never did that.

how about the first skate boards before they stated selling them in the store. we would take an old clamp on skate and put the front wheels on the front end of a 2x6 that had been cut to a point and put the back wheels on the back side that was square and ride them like the new version of skate boards but of
couse couldn't do anything close to what they do now on those new fangled skate boards but still fun and lots of skinned knees, and elbows and occasional cracked head from falling off.
