I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring. Anyone fishin’ the Forks of the Kern River and its tributaries…I’m thinking’ the flow is fairly high and murky from snow melt.

Go on you tube and look up Guy Jeans. He has a fly shop in Kernville and has been doing current reports . Even though he mostly fly fishes you can get an idea of how the fishing is and the current conditions. I need to get up there myself I understand that the fishing has been great.
Good Luck

Got my first license, with Dad’s 51’ Studebaker. 3 on the tree. 🌴 starter button on the floor. “Hill Holder” clutch. Wish I had it… 🐟on

First learned to drive around 13 years old, with a 43 Willy's jeep, 3 speed on the floor, starter on the floor. Moved up to a 61 Chevy 1/2 ton with 3 on the tree. I had to go with Mom when she drove the Chevy because the shifter linkage would occasionally slip out and I would have to pop the hood reach in and reset the linkage.

Good Morning Oz
I had an Uncle who installed formica counter tops using contact cement. If he made a mistake he had a spray bottle with acetone in it. He would lift a corner and spray the acetone which would desolve the contact cement. This method would not damage the material, which could be reused, and made for a somewhat easy cleanup. Maybe others on the board can chime in if they think this would damage anything.
Thanks
Have a Great Day and
Good Luck

Most of the lakes around here are full or over 100%.
Second year in a row that they saw we're not in a drought. 🤠👍

It's not only the lakes and reservoirs in California, that are filling up, but
Lake Mead in NV and Lake Powell in AZ are getting much needed replenishing.

Thanks Graywulff for your early morning laughs. Especially since I can relate to the first one. So often it is my wife who does the most catching. But I don't ever mind. Have a good day, even though it is going to be a long one. 🥱

Just to put a little spin on the first one:
Many years ago while on a large family camping trip, at Refugio Beach, CA. I was out with the nieces and nephews trying to show them how to lite line surf fish. I'm having no luck when out of no where comes my Golden retriever, Jasper. He runs right into the water and brings out a surf perch in his mouth.
Out of the mouthes of the innocent comes " Uncle Tim, how come Jasper can catch fish and You can't?" !!!

I think the fish that get loose can be as many pounds as you want, I almost had a 30 pound bass once

I agree with you Uncle T.
The fish I don't take pictures of are always bigger than the ones that I do take pictures of.

Hey guys, I am looking into buying a pair of chest waders and i’ve looked at the 2 different types (stocking foot and regular with the plastic boots). I know you guys are probably more experienced in this stuff than I am. So, I was wondering which ones you guys think I should buy. I will most likely be using these to wade in rivers and bays and the ocean to fish for stripers and blues. Let me know! Thanks!

If most of your wading is in rivers and possibly lakes, float tubing, then I like stocking foot waders as to the fact that you have many different boot or fin options. If you do more surf fishing then the boot foot option does a much better job at keeping the sand out of your boots but you limit the sole options.
