I just got a used G3 bass boat. I am wondering how far under the surface do you place your trolling motor for best performance? Right now it is set to the extreme but I don't want to hit anything if I can help it and want to raise it.

I used the end of a clear plastic spoon or fork. Cheap. And if you mess up you can try again. Easy to work with.
