I started with inshore fishing in the bay area, California but only managed to accidentally reel in small fish. I tried to fish for almost a year and got tired of not getting anything worth wild, so I bought a baitcaster and go to my local lakes. I've been to my local lakes maybe more than a dozen times and can't fish anything. I've tried several rigs, hook sizes, I tried to target different species and can't feel a nibble. I've tried fishing near brush and vegetation. I usually fish between 1pm- 9pm since I work early morning. After buying 3 different rods and reels thinking it's because of the gear I have, I kinda wanna quit fishing. Any tips?
