I have a 13' boat with a hull like a Boston Whaler. Loaded, me included, I would guess 1100 lbs max.
I had a Merc 25 on it and it would plane and top out at 23MPH.
I resized to a Suzuki 9.9 because of power restrictions on some of the lakes I fish. Best I can get is 7.5 MPH, and it will not plane.
Is this the best I can expect?
Mangrove fishing is the best.
I used to be a dive master, and between morning and afternoon off gas rests, I would take my clients snorkeling in mangroves. Until us see it, you won't believe the diversity that lives there. Many much preferred the snorkeling over diving.
I have a new Terrova with spot lock.
when I pass over fish, I hit the anchor button, then the boat repositions into the wind and they are gone from sonar forever.
The fish either senses the boat and moves, or I don't know proper use.
the lake ranges from 6' to 20'
How do I find them again.
makes sense if you have a small cuddy cabin to sleep in.
I much prefer salt marsh/mangrove fishing over fresh water or off shore.
But, you need a mapping gps to find your way home if you are not real familiar. (don't ask how I know that)
Best places to find fish on really hot days.
Kroger, IGA, Publix, Walmart.

Does anyone know how to prevent hands from smelling like fish when fishing? I was thinking wearing gloves might help?
Will wearing gloves help prevent hands from smelling like fish, for example my hands stink after cutting up squid for bait and I really want to prevent this. I could try wearing disposable gloves but would prefer to know if this actually works because I could buy a proper lasting pair of gloves instead of being wasteful. If so, what type of gloves would work best?
Thank you.

Any creams/liquids will be transferred to the meat when you clean. Don't recommend that.
Oil changing gloves should work.
But, your cat loves you the way you are.
