I bought a new Pflueger President spincast reel for my wife and wanted to put it on a pretty good, thirty something year old bait cast rod. There is not enough clearance for the front cover. I tried removing the cover to mount the reel, then put the cover back on. No dice. There still is not clearance. Have the rods changed that much?
I love this story. What you don't know about "smart" phones you certainly make up for in turning a phrase, as well as catching fish. I remember being scared to death of dropping my i-phone into the Grand Canyon.... and I had two hands on it!
I'm from Wisconsin and new to this forum. I retired last year and will start fishing again after too many years away from it. I plan to do some jigging, bobber fishing and trolling on the small to medium sized lakes here.
