Have you ever fished Lake Shasta? We caught a bunch of bass there in the past.

There's a guy on here goes by flyguy that is from MN, but he's probably out fishing right now, he's wintering in Texas. He's a wealth of information and will be able to give you good advice. And I'm sure OJ knows what he's talking about also.

Well Spirit, I do my best. MN lakes are very similar to those in WI. I wanted to suggest drop shotting and Ned rigging for bass, but can’t speak from experience on those yet. Those techniques work well on TV, though and they couldn’t show it on TV unless it was true 😉

I just like to help out others that are less fortunate than I am. And that includes people that aren't catchin fish.

Nicely done Saw, pay it forward when you can. You may have changed his life and there are plenty of fish out there as long as we obey the regulations.

My wife and I are headed for Remer MN in June to fish for crappie, bluegill, bass and walleye. Any tips from you pros on rigs, baits, etc.?

Hi Greg,
Not familiar with Remner (possibly Remer)? The panfish should be spawned out by then, so could be suspended in 6-10’ of water, or hanging out in the outside edges of the weeds waiting for food to swim by. The walleyes will also be there, near the bottom, or relating to structure (humps) near drop offs. Jigs and minnows are a good method to start with or leeches below slip bobbers. Walleyes feed shallow at night, too. Find the food, find the fish.
Good luck.

Walleye have been put in cascade by some greedy fisherman that decided he ,they whatever. Several have been caught so it's just a matter of time. Cascade has kokanee as well as bass, perch. Nice nice size rainbows so it doesnt need another predator. They could seriously affect the kokanee, trout populations ad well as the perch.

Those 18-20” walleyes are delicious

yes....have deep pockets..keep in mind that most pretty lures catch more fishermen than fish..ask me how I know!!

Unfortunately, I am with you. Johnny Morris could add on a wing to one of his BPS stores and name it after me.

Seems like you have a great spot, too bad it is so far away.
Enjoy!

Cascade has been kinda secret until last few yrs. But while it's not hard to catch a 14 1/2 inch perch. It's hard to catch large numbers of them. A few people will hit a honey hole, but consistent big ones come by learning the lake. I've fished it 6 times ,once for 6 days, 2 of us kept 40 over 12 inches. This last time 2 fished 2 1/2 days, kept 22 over 12. But I've seen pics of 3-4 guys catching 40 or more in one day. Then they went back same place next day and the same guys caught 7. Jumbos follow the minnows. I live 6 hr drive away.

47 square miles is quite a nice body of water and must have a nice forage base to grow jumbos like that. Keep up the good work.

Go to the Acme Tackle website. The Hydroglide has been in use for a little over a year. It can be used anytime. I use one primarily for ice fishing,

Uncut6, you’re a better man than I as I can’t find the hydro glide anywhere. The hyper and hyper rattle models are available for between $5-9.

Good luck and good fishin’

Search for it online, or available at Cabela’s or Scheels among others. Acme tackle offers many useful lures for freshwater fishing, but they may be used in salt or brackish water as well? A WI based company, in Ft. Atkinson, I believe.

It was entertainment night at the Senior Citizens Centre and the hypnotist's stage name was Flyguy who had been invited to perform his show. Flyguy, explained: "I'm here to put you into a trance.

I intend to hypnotize each and every member of the audience." The excitement was almost electric as Fly withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat. "I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's a very, very, special watch.

It's been in my family for six generations and I have the spread sheet to prove it." He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, "Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch the watch..." The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch.

Until, suddenly, the chain broke, it slipped from Fly's grip and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces...…... Crap!!!! exclaimed Flyguy.

It took three days to clean up the Senior Citizens Centre. Flyguy was never invited back to entertain.
