really depends on the situation...Lipless will drop like a rock when you stop them...but rattletrap great for covering a lot of territory..helluva lot of kinds of lipped cranks..the big ones that go deep can work you to death...I really like the smaller squarebills.. Bill Norman & FatFree shad really good quality,, and..in a pinch you can work the lipped CB slow like a topwater assuming its one that floats..most do..and when they hang up lots a time give them slack and they will float off...
When bass feeding active & not too many weeds rattletraps hard to beat...sometimes tho it doesn't hurt to replace factory hooks with larger ones..
don't settle on just one!!!!!!
So basically keep a broad selection of both, Time to go lure shopping!

yes....have deep pockets..keep in mind that most pretty lures catch more fishermen than fish..ask me how I know!!
