If he'd been drinking Jack I'd threw back then followed him in. LOL! It wasn't a rock bass. I looked that up and it didn't look anything like a rock bass. It looked like a LM but the colors were darker and the eyes red.

I'n afraid that I can't manage to take a pic of a fish. Trying to fumble with the phone with hand while holding the fish with the other would end with the fish on the deck while me and phone went into the lake.

I went fishing in Lake Juliette just outside Juliette, Georgia. Middle Georgia area. Juliette is where they filmed "Fried Green Tomatoes". The lake is an impoundment on Rum Creek and acts as a reservoir for Ga. Power's Plant Scherer power plant. The water is very clear compared to other lakes in the area. It's run by the Ga Dept. of Natural Resources.

Anyway, I caught a bass that looked like a largemouth but the colors were darker. The green on the back and the continuous black line along the lateral line were darker than the normal bass I usually catch there . The real strange thing was that it had red eyes. First bass I ever caught with red eyes and I've been bass fishing a long time. It wasn't a Rock Bass. Wrong shape. Any ideas?

I can't find a story that tells exactly what happened to him. I'm assuming it was something really dumb but then I don't know.

I’m disabled and looking for a place to go fishing. The places I go are closed due to the virus. I live in Orange Co NC.Can someone please help me.Been in this house to long.🤓🙏

Check your state's Game & Fish Commission webpage for public fishing areas that are handicapped accessible. We have them here in Ga. and I feel they should have them in N.C.. Now that states are opening back up you may find a nice lake to fish.

mr. sleeve. Is your first name Gillder?

Hey Spirit,

I knew a guy that was named Wilber Guildersleeve. He had to testify in a law suit once and when the attorney asked Wilber his name, he told him. The attorney paused for a second, turned around to face him, then asked, "You aren't kidding us about your name now are you?". I nearly fell out of my seat. He was the webmaster for the guy that was getting sued.

The Quadrajet was always notorious for bogging. The reason is those HUGE secondary venturis the carb has. It sounds like yours are opening too quickly.

From the way you described it, running fine at slow speed and wide open tells me that the jets aren't clogged. If you ease the throttle and it still runs good this tells me that the midrange needles aren't stuck.

You can buy a spring kit that has about five different springs in it. They go in a dashpot on the side of the carb and they limit how fast it opens. Simply put the "fastest" spring in and try it. If it bogs go to the next slowest spring. Continue changing the spring until it accelerates cleanly.

The diaphragm in the dashpot may have gone bad. If it's that old (78 I think you said) the diaphragm may have become brittle and cracked resulting in the secondaries opening way too quickly. Summit may have a dashpot and the spring kit.

Wd, you mention the Jimmy Dean sausage. We were Dean consumers for as long as I can remember. There is a brand here in NC that is called ( Bass ). If it is in your area the one in the red package beats J D sausage. It may be a local thing here but if you can find it its worth the try.

I'll look around for it when this coronavirus subsides. I don't think I've ever seen it here. We also have a sausage made by Swaggart. It's good as well. A lot of sausage are considered "local" products. I mentioned JD because it's widely available. Sausage is like BBQ in that it's all different and usually "local" in taste.

I used to use cumin and some other spices but reading the McCormick package revealed it had everything I used. I like the chili flavor to be prominent as well so that's the reason for two packs of the seasoning. If I add peppers I use jalapeno peppers with the seeds removed. If you like it hot you can add red pepper flakes. A good bowl of chili is hard to beat. Enjoy!

It's good even without the deer. The sausage is what makes it. Here in Ga. I get either Jimmy Dean or Tennessee Pride sausage. Get the sausage thats in the roll and brown it with the ground beef. I like the small suze red kidney beans but make sure you drain them. You can add another can if diced tomatoes or a small can of tomato sauce if you like. It's nothing fancy just a good basic chili.

I have a 9.9 Mercury Pro Kicker on a Tracker Panfish 16 and it's SLOW. It goes 8.5 mph max. Tracker says min horsepower for that boat is 20 hp as it's heavy with the wood used to make dry storage areas in the boat. But the lake I use it in most has a 10 hp limit.

The four stroke motors don't seem to push a boat as well as s two stroke model rated at the same horsepower. I know the 4 stroke is cleaner but like the two stroke motors better.

Say the lure is only going a short distance? Thats the way you learn. Don't try to cast it across the lake. When you try to cast real hard to get more distance it gets the spool spinning too fast resulting in the backlash. To get more distance using a particular lure you need to change the spool settings and the mag setting as you get better at braking the spool with your thumb.

To learn how to use the reel adjust the spool tension knob so that the lure drops slowly when you release the spool. Adjust the mag to maximum braking. Make a smooth cast and allow your thumb to just ever so lightly drag on the side of the spool. Start making short casts and as you get better turn down the mag brake and make longer cast. Before long you'll be real happy with your new baitcaster.

Speaking of signs, I was headed to my favorite little lake today and as I passed Old School Road I saw a sign that said "WROMS FOR SALE". Go Figure!

Hi Turtle. Welcome to the Forum. I live just up the highway from you in Monroe County. I went to High Falls State Park for a few hours today trying to catch a bass. Water was muddy and 61°. Lots of fishermen practicing social distancing but the fish must have been as well. Not a single strike. Should be pre-spawn feeding by now. Maybe all the rain and muddy water is affecting the bite. Or, I'm just a lousy fisherman.
