At first, I thought that the second photo showd a pipefish, but those get to be only around 10-15 inches long. So I'm voting like several others here - it's a trumpet fish.

Prayers to your friend in Iceland—beautiful country. For the first fish, it looks like a smallmouth buffalo (Ictiobus bubalus). We used to catch them in Kansas when I was growing up.

I confess that I sort of cheated. When I can’t identify a fish I snap a picture, or in this case a screenshot. Then I bring it up in google photos and there’s a symbol at the bottom of the screen that looks like a square with rounded corners and a dot in the middle. When you click on that symbol google will search for pictures that resemble your picture. I find that most times the first picture that it shows is the correct one.
I find myself using it often since I moved down to Florida three years ago. I lived up north in Pennsylvania and I had never seen or heard of most of the fish I started catching down here. I find it to be a very handy tool for IDing fish and other wildlife and things in general. So it’s not just for IDing fish.
