Global warming, yes. Don't confuse weather with climate change. A warmer climate causes more frequent extreme weather. Hotter hot, colder cold ,ect. But also extremes we have had occasionally forever, it was -40* in Feb. 1976, also the worst thunderstorm I have ever seen July 4th that same year in the Willamette Valley . We almost never get severe weather here. But gradually we are getting hotter and drier and our Fir trees are starting to die.
Climate change is gradual, a part of a degree in the yearly average, hardly noticable if not for the extremes,they get our attention.

now now I have never heard a "well-off" say God will take care of them in fact it is the well off who contribute the most to both private charities as well as pay the most taxes. but as you know the homeless problem is not caused by more millionaires and billionaires it is cause by more drug and alcohol addition and the resulting rise in mental illness. around here they have thrown millions more dollars at the "homeless problem" and it has not helped one bit in fact it has gotten worse, the problem is not money but public policy. just a note on the rise in millionaires the rise has been caused largely by inflation not really a rise in personal wealth. My house went from $400,000 to 1.2 million so I guess I am one of those new millionaires but of course the only change has been my property taxes has gone up making it much harder to make it on my retirement income. I guess my kids will inherit more when I die and they sell the house but it does nothing for me now and I sure can't afford to pay more taxes since the actual income I have to live on has only gone down not up.
