My wife asked me if am going to use my drone golfing now. I thought why not pick the ball off the tee and fly and drop it in the hole. She thinks am nuts and it would probably bother the other golfers.

You need license to operate Drone. Half the reason for licensing for anything is usually to make someone aware of rules and that there is rules. A person in Portland flew a drone around someone else house windows. The person that was getting trespassed on shot the drone out of sky after telling owner to stop several times. The person got a discharging firearm in city limit ticket and then went and fought it in court and won.

I was researching drone fishing and I ordered the chasing Dory underwater drone. It can be used in freshwater or saltwater it has a 50 foot depth and transmits it Video to a surface bouy to your cell phone. Amazon wants $ 512.00 for it I used my points and got it cheaper. You can also use it under the ice which is good in Minnesota where I live. Now I need a flying fishing drone. Not until spring though. Now I can sell some of boats and tell wife am going drone fishing.

It can be used in freshwater or saltwater and under the ice house here. Now I am researching flying fishing drones. Easier than towing my boat behind my RV. And you can fish where there are no boat launches. Lake Superior is where I go often.

30 states have no drone laws at all, as of 2021. That includes surveillance, hunting, fishing, or anything else. The only regulations are the FAA rules about flight paths at airports.

In Oregon you are NOT allowed to fly over an area you are going to hunt and not allowed to use any drones or aircraft within 24 hours of hunting the area. There is all sorts of stories in units I have hunted.

Like bullets hitting the equipment. Also not allowed ANY electronics in scopes here either. My cousin has a gun with a special scope that you use a range Finder and it tells you what to set the scope on to adjust for windage elevation and range. Dead on. It can NOT be used in Oregon. People use to use radio controlled boats for casting below bonneville dam for sturgeon and it is illegal too.

License requirements are to get people to realize there is a bunch of laws. A guy in Portland was flying a drone around a neighborhood and ticking people off. A guy shot the drone with a shotgun. The drone owner was arrested and the guy with gun was let off hook due to trespassing laws.

Thanks for posting all that, Jeremy... As I recall: "ignorance is NO excuse" (for breaking the law)... We'd ALL do well, to BE educated about laws in our own specific "fishing areas".
