They have known about Global Warming for 60 yrs. They could have, with their science, power and condiderable means, lead the search for cleaner burning engines, more efficient fuels and better and more biodegradable plastics all while making a respectable profit and might be known as National Heroes. Now they will be evermore known for their GREED.

Greed is human nature and why socialism doesn’t work.

I’m just curious as to why global warming only happens on the west coast of the United States. Here in Idaho temps are cooler than they were 20 years ago, crops are more lush this year than they’ve been in two decades, lakes are full, rivers are higher right now than than they have been, this time of year, in over 16 years and we have three, man-caused, small grass fires going on right now here in Idaho. California is all dried up and burning down, Oregon has hundreds of wild fires burning and their water is all but gone, I’m not sure about Washington but it sure seems like the “global warming” problem reported by folks on or near the west coast doesn’t go very Far East of them. Just seems rather strange to me is all. I would think “global warming” would encompass the “globe”. Not just the west coast of the lower 48. 🤔

You truly do live in paradise. We had a longer wetter Spring than the last 10, so yes your crops are lusher. I still have property in Montana just over the mountains from yours. Our temps have been 2* to 4* higher, summer and winter, the last 5 yrs, probably longer but I wasn't paying attention earlier.

yes the earth has been on a warming trend since the little ice age and mist likely will cycle back to a cooling trend. of course weather and climate are two different things. I would like to know what the shifting of the poles has to do with either. I know the north pole has moved more than normal the last 10 years and I would think that change our weather in some way

There is global shifting. Warmer or colder days than usual. Overall there isn’t much degree movement over 100 years. You look back and they had similar temperature trends in the past.

It might, though we might not detect the change. There was an earthquake a few yrs ago that moved Peru 2 ft east, if it also changed the elevation that could affect their climate.

I think so too. That Montana country over the mountain from us is beautiful. We have friends in Stevensville and we love the Bitterroot area. It’s really beautiful all up through Montana to the Canadian border over there. I ran Hounds for 20 years over there and never got tired of being there. It’s awesome country.

You've "brought to mind" something I seem to remember having read, in the National Geographic, I think it was... Maybe 30(+/-) years ago? ...
It was reported that certain people had been doing some "scientific, exploratory excavating" of sorts... They had discovered that there were layers of ¿magnetite? (Maybe) that were "laid down" at different depths, from the surface of Earth; who's "north and south poles" had actually "flipped" 180(ish)°... And THAT; more than once.
I'm going to run a "search" on this topic and will post links or directions on how to find information about what this might all mean, to us; we, who are currently breathing Earth-Air.

Im done.

Companies are focusing on short term profit. Long term planning doesn’t show up in stock market performance. The Chinese are going to turn Africa and South America into new major markets for them. It might take 50 years but that’s long term planning.

The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck was a look into the oriental mind. Everything for future generations. The individual was unimportant.
