When have you seen anything that government does that makes sense?

I'm thinking that every last individual who would "serve" in ANY kind of "decision making" or "policy setting" (I guess I'm thinking about all of them that have right about at a zero % chance of "developing a callus"...) and is paid by all of US... really OUGHT to be capable of "acing" a "History test", at bare minimum; these people should have no doubt in their minds, about: "It seems that we've been through something similar, BEFORE." (When "something similar" ends up being "tossed around' in Congress.) ... ¿How many times, does a man have to attempt to "pull a roast out of the oven"; before he'll be DAMN SURE to be wearing gloves or using a towel, or, perhaps 2× huge forks?

Be careful. Looks to me you are trying to be logical about this. However you may soon find yourself being called a racist. With all that said I’m with you it does not make sense

I often thought of that myself and the only sense I can make out of it is gaining political votes.
Sure hope saying that dont raise a red flag.

It's more than just about the votes. We have two political parties who don't care about doing the right thing. We have millions of jobs with nobody to fill them. We have about four million citizens who are qualified to work but left the job market during the covid epidemic and aren't returning.

Republicans don't want to fix immigration - they want to shut it off. Democrats are the opposite. The real truth is in between. We should have a program for temporary admission of workers and give them ability to earn citizenship based on stringent criteria (learning the language, educational attainment, civic responsibility, etc.). Then we could start to fill some of these needed jobs.

Both parties should seriously look to get people on the fence back to work and get workers to fill jobs nobody seems to want.

Sorry about the rant, but I grow weary about the inability of both parties to get important work done because no one can compromise. China is going to easily surpass us because we can't row the oars together.

This is on all of us.

If you vote(I don't anymore), you vote this garbage in. Garbage in, garbage out. These politicians are the best we can get. Don't blame me, I didn't vote them in. Term limits won't help, just new garbage replacing old.
Just my rant. I'd rather be fishing.

I agree that voting doesn't help. That's because our system of choosing candidates ensures that we pick the most extreme candidates.

I'm no expert on this topic (although I really SHOULD BE, by now) {I've worked with and socially "interacted with" ...[Think: "bending elbows" here]... far more individuals from various parts of Planet Earth, than I can bring myself to believe, is "standard"} ¿Does this individual not WANT to "become an American Citizen"? ... That could be the case... A lot of people don't wanna"give up" their "Native born citizenship"; which, again; I'm not really an expert on "Dual-Citizenship", either. A visa would become unnecessary, at the point in time, when Citizenship would be secured.
If they have no desire to actually live here and become a "productive American Citizen"; then, let them go back to the land of their birth and... Hell... I've even offered to buy one woman, a one-way plane ticket!!! (She would sit at the bar ¡¡&/or the lunch table at work!! & BITCH about America!!!)
If they don't really want to be an American, it is my understanding, that MANY Americans are "out of work", right now... I say: (I should say that I HAVE said) : "Don't let the door hit ya in the A$$!!! They "like it better " somewhere else, lettem go somewhere else!
