I can’t get my head around this

Used to work with a guy from India. Pretty good dude , wouldn’t want to bring him to my new job because he just didn’t meet the respect criteria I applied to my short list.
Well anyway, we linked up via Linked in
He said he was stuck at the old place because his Visa was about to expire.

Here’s my delima. We have literally millions of i*****l i*******ts we really don’t want but the government is doing everything in their power to make em comfy.
Then there are the immigrants we do want, they are here cause they followed the necessary channels and contribute. And they have a shelf life. ???
What am I missing here.
Does this make sense ?

Why would you think anything the government has in place would make sense?

I'm no expert on this topic (although I really SHOULD BE, by now) {I've worked with and socially "interacted with" ...[Think: "bending elbows" here]... far more individuals from various parts of Planet Earth, than I can bring myself to believe, is "standard"} ¿Does this individual not WANT to "become an American Citizen"? ... That could be the case... A lot of people don't wanna"give up" their "Native born citizenship"; which, again; I'm not really an expert on "Dual-Citizenship", either. A visa would become unnecessary, at the point in time, when Citizenship would be secured.
If they have no desire to actually live here and become a "productive American Citizen"; then, let them go back to the land of their birth and... Hell... I've even offered to buy one woman, a one-way plane ticket!!! (She would sit at the bar ¡¡&/or the lunch table at work!! & B***H about America!!!)
If they don't really want to be an American, it is my understanding, that MANY Americans are "out of work", right now... I say: (I should say that I HAVE said) : "Don't let the door hit ya in the A$$!!! They "like it better " somewhere else, lettem go somewhere else!

Our government motto is
"Common Sense and Good Judgment Will Not Be Tolerated"

Common sense died years ago. It was a quiet funeral. Very few people realized it died until it was too late.

What I’m saying is I’ve met good folk from all over the world. If you are responsible , educated , articulate and respect the law and others , and have a desire and work ethic that enables some degree of success , that’s what I call a good American citizen.
It’s easy for a illegal to get here and hard for folk who do it right , and that comes with a timer.
Seems contradictory to me .

I see what you're saying, Ben... Yes, I've known women over the years (I was a "set-up man", in the assembly dept. of a manufacturing plant, here in Bedford Heights, Ohio; during the "late, mid-70's"... just me, keeping roughly 30× "Bodine-Bridgeport Machines" functional and stocked with parts, as well... I'm talking about. ¡¡All, but 2 of them; were attempting "English as a Second Language"/ varying degrees of success!! All of them (almost all) were the sweetest women I've ever known, before, or since. There were aLOT, from Poland, a few from Yugoslavia, a couple of Indian Ladies (who, "the others" would refer to as: "Hinduskis")... Some Czechs, at least 1, who was from Ukraine (who, "the others" informed me) and was considered by them, to be "a Hillbilly"!!! (She was actually one of the sweetest ones... Always with a smile!)
Hell, I've picked apples/ Jamaicans and picked citrus/ them, as well as Mexicanos y Fished/ Cubanos... Also had a Portuguese "1st Mate" on a steel hulled slab, I'd "caught" outta New Bedford, MA; back in the summer of 1980... THAT vessel, had a Mexican Captain!! We had 3× "W***e A******ns" & 3×"African Americans" on the back deck, and an older "African American" cook! (¡¡Man!, That guy, could cook!)
I guess, I've almost always gotten along, with most of anybody, from anyWHERE!! (Mostly) {There has also been people, who seem to "take an immediate DISLIKE towards me"; before I ever speak... So... } (And THOSE, rarely foreigners, actually; although there had been a couple.)
I've only actually worked with 2× men, from other countries/ any kind of a "Higher Education"; who were both Engineers (Industrial Engineers).
I have met (on a professional basis/ me being "the Patient") ENTIRELY TOO MANY FOREIGN DOCTORS!!! [¿Don't any American kids, go on to "Med School"?]
Sorry for the rambling...

None at all to me Ben. We don't have i******s where I live now but when I was in Oregon it was ONLY the illegal (undocumented) immigrants that received all the benefits. The ones that did it the way they were supposed to to get citizenship suffered right along with all the rest of us, legal, citizens. If they were undocumented and or illegally there they got everything handed to them on a silver platter. If they went through all the proper Chanel's to be there legally they didn't get squat.

That's possibly a factor... Although, I don't have any idea what the percentages were like/ the "Ladies" I had worked with, MOST Cubanos I'd ever met, were somewhat "Conservative", believe it or not. VERY glad to be en Los Estados Unidos, rather than swinging a machete in a cane break!!! Or hand-rolling cigars 12+14 hours a day. (Actually, I guess SOME actually DID continue on/ the cigar-rolling... ¿Have A Tampa?)
