See! I learn so much being a member of this fine established country club.
I’m so lucky to have so many friends to rely on except when I’m broke, but we’ll work on that one. So, No Mo Bananas 🍌!

Don't know if true, just recall reading it somewhere many years ago. It said you should not eat a banana within a day of going where can expect to encounter mosquitoes. It claims there was something in the banana extract that was attractive to the insects which they could detect. Since it wasn't killing me to avoid eating a banana before going out fishing, especially at night, never did any experiment to try and prove or disprove. Maybe someone on the Stage has or could become the Stage's banana/mosquito scientist.

When I was in third grade on April Fools Day I took a friends banana, put it on the floor, squished it with my foot and said April Fools! Miss Venquin my teacher saw me do it and came over and yelled “ That’s a waste! Either eat that banana or go to the principals office!”
So I scraped it off the floor and when I started to eat some she yelled “April Fools!” and the whole class laughed at me.

My understanding is that bananas spoil quickly and with other fruit or vegetables would have them spoil. As they crossed the Atlantic in wooden boats and sails could not have food spoil often.

Yes Bananas are BAD JUJU!!! Bad things happen --no fish catching , your boat will break down and leave you stranded . All kinds of bad things .

I always take bananas on our party boat and the captain said he could care less what I brought on board. Also tuna salad sandwiches on many trips and the captained enjoyed them as well. We generally limit out on various species of bottom fish and Halibut. For someone with a weak stomach on a rough ocean they go down and stay down usually!!!
