Yes, Spirit let's talk. I usually fly into Anchorage and rent a car. This year I may fly from Anchorage to Kenai. Not sure yet. Rental cars are through the roof. Thinking about buying a car. For sure one way or the other we could hook up.

OK Mike. I will for sure give it some thought I got a good friend who lives in Anchorage who might could help us out. She's been up there about 30 years now and I've never visited her. She would sh*t. What time of year do usually go? I'd have to brush off my wings. I HATE flying. Enlisted in the Navy because of that, spent 21 years in and was stationed aboard 1 ship for a couple of years. Every where else I went (and I went a lot) I flew. I've been to Anchorage more than a few times, but I never pulled in there, only landed at the AFB. There and Kodiak. Good times.

I use to fish alone alot and I really did enjoy it but I have had a few health issues and some of the creeks, streams, and rivers I fish can get a little to remote for me to feel safe . I find myself fishing more populated areas (just in case) and I paitently waiting for someone to have time and the desire to fish the little hide away spots.

I hear ya John. Lot of the places I used to fish I can't get to anymore, or if I did I wouldn't be able to get out and back to base. I still know a few spots that nobody else is aware of, but that gets tougher and tougher to come by here in California with 35 million or so other folks. Here's a spot.

Ya Fred I grew up around bikes. A few “Angels” in the family. I had a dirt bike at 5. But I never got a street bike. You can be the best rider in the world and one a..hole not paying attention and your in trouble!!! Be safe out there buddy! And I love your look, I could never pull it off. But most of the really great older guys I knew growing up looked just like you!

I hear ya - nowadays we have to be twice as vigilant. Still a lot of fun, though. Riding is right up there with fishing on my list of favorite things.

I have a BIL that lived out there for a year or 2, and the pictures he shared were awesome. As far as the wife goes, she'd probably say, Have fun, see you when you get back.LOL.:-)

My wife is the same way. She would rather quilt without me under foot and go material shopping with her quilting group. She does ask when I plan to fish Paris or Venice.

I been up there too. I went alone but had a house project that I had to start for a friend. We did a bunch of the excavation and concrete to get the thing started and he paid for my flights. I was in Palmer for 3.5 weeks in July. Had a blast. I fished the Deshka a few times. The Russian. Byrd Creek and a few other places . I want to go back. My spouse doesn’t want to go fishing but let’s me. I’m addicted to Ocean Fishing. I usually go about once a month here in Oregon out of Depoe Bay. I fish a lot in Willamette and Columbia in Spring. Nehalem Bay in fall.

Most of the time I fish by myself. Many reasons I do fish alone. In my circle of friends not many of them fish and the one or two that do. Will only fish for walleye. My favorite to fish for at home is the smallmouth. I love taking my grandkids and my three daughters. By the way the daughters can fish with the best of any fisherman. The problem with them is they don't live close. We do get to fish together when we can.
Don't get me wrong. I love fishing with other people. I just don't mind and enjoy fishing alone. I can do what I want. When I want and as long or as short as I want. I fish some lakes that are a seven-hour drive from home. Unless my wife goes with me, I go alone. Have invited others but nobody has had the time. I fly to Alaska by myself and salmon fish. I have made many friends there in the past nine years and seldom fish alone. But if no one is around I fish alone. I will only travel to Alaska alone also as do most of my friends there do. We have even talked about it. If you come alone, you get to do whatever you want.
I do like fishing with other people and to prove it you are all invited!

Get a dog, you’ll never need to fish alone again.

Bout the only time I fish alone is if I'm in Tahoe. I stream and river fish for trout up there alone. Probly not a good idea though. A lot of the places I hike into are pretty rough and remote. You get hurt down one of those canyons and you could be there AWHILE.
However, If I'm in Windsor, I NEVER have a shortage of people that wanna go fishin.
I could probly fish 6 days a week and never have to fish with the same person twice if I didn't want to, and I don't fish on Sunday or it would be 7 days a week.
Besides the fact that it is a little expensive I'm startin to slow down some and fishin 4 or 5 days a week is getting harder for me to do. So I've tried to cut it back to 2 or 3 times a week. But come summer time when the striper fishin turns on again who knows.
