I been up there too. I went alone but had a house project that I had to start for a friend. We did a bunch of the excavation and concrete to get the thing started and he paid for my flights. I was in Palmer for 3.5 weeks in July. Had a blast. I fished the Deshka a few times. The Russian. Byrd Creek and a few other places . I want to go back. My spouse doesn’t want to go fishing but let’s me. I’m addicted to Ocean Fishing. I usually go about once a month here in Oregon out of Depoe Bay. I fish a lot in Willamette and Columbia in Spring. Nehalem Bay in fall.

Most of the time I fish by myself. Many reasons I do fish alone. In my circle of friends not many of them fish and the one or two that do. Will only fish for walleye. My favorite to fish for at home is the smallmouth. I love taking my grandkids and my three daughters. By the way the daughters can fish with the best of any fisherman. The problem with them is they don't live close. We do get to fish together when we can.
Don't get me wrong. I love fishing with other people. I just don't mind and enjoy fishing alone. I can do what I want. When I want and as long or as short as I want. I fish some lakes that are a seven-hour drive from home. Unless my wife goes with me, I go alone. Have invited others but nobody has had the time. I fly to Alaska by myself and salmon fish. I have made many friends there in the past nine years and seldom fish alone. But if no one is around I fish alone. I will only travel to Alaska alone also as do most of my friends there do. We have even talked about it. If you come alone, you get to do whatever you want.
