Havent read anyone here using or have used one of the pocket fisherman poles/rigs.I had one that i eneded up losing from an accident on the water years back...a story for another time i suppose. But i will say it worked for what i wanted it for, and yes i caught a few fish i was surprised i was able to reel in too.

Always wanted to have one using the Banjo minnows for Christmas As a kid. Didn’t get that or a 🎸 electric guitar.

hey blue...my first electric guitar came from the back of a comic book when they had those full paged ads selling all that stuff. It was about the size of a squire solid body, by fender...but it definitely was no Fender nor was it a well made guitar...but my first electric i played that sucker till my fingers bled..honest.

I happen to have one of those, and while I have caught fish with it, I look at it as more of a gimmick. Even an ice fishing rod casts farther for me...but I do like the telescoping ones...they work well for small to mid sized fish.

it was the marketing that sold that idea of having something to use to catch a fish when the opportunity came around...and for the most part, they nailed it.

Hi Fishin, that is so cool. I never ever got a guitar or anything from those comic books. Did always eyeball the X-ray glasses and sea horse monster!! Thanks.

My Gramma and Ma, each had one of the Pocket Fisherman. Gramma used her's ALOT. She caught hundreds of panfish from the damn of a millpond, up in Massachusetts over a period of about 3 years. I think I have at least one of those, packed away SOMEWHERE around here.

yep...i lost mine when the skiff i used that day on the lake was swamped by some kids driving their daddy's boat at full speed and werent paying attention to the size of the wake they were leaving behind. Luckily i was saved by another fisherman as he came around the corner and saw me dog paddling 20 yards from shore...no other boat in sight!
