Don’t Park Near A Battery Charging Station

Imagine you're going on a cross-country road trip. I can refuel my car in less than two minutes. How long does it take to put a full charge in old sparky?

Another hobby of mine is radio controlled model planes. these days, most of them are electric, using lithium batteries like in the electric cars. I've seen lithium batteries the size of a candy bar go up, and it's spectacular. The battery burns at about the same rate as the head of a match. Now imagine a match head that weighs around 1200 pounds. Happy 4th of July!!!

Right now, the electrical grid is straining, and some governors and electric utilities are calling for (or even mandating) conservation. Plugging in a couple of hundred million electric vehicles will probably push us over the edge and cause a collapse of our ability to get electricity. What happened last winter in Texas could become a year-around problem, nationwide!

Not to be political here, but the top politician (name withheld to stay out of the attic) is pushing to have HALF of our cars be electric by 2030, just 8-1/2 years away.

The top politician (for now) of California doesn't want any new gas stations built here, he wants to dry up our supply of gas. Darn it, gold, agriculture and petroleum are what got California going!

The politicians on 'that side' do all they can to block the new construction of anything that produces electricity. I can divulge how I lean politically without going to the attic by mentioning Ecclesiastes 10:2.

10-4 on that comment...could not agree more! They are fun on the golf course (mini versions like we have been using for decades), but that's about it!

Double 10-4. I’ve ridden in one and they aren’t cracked up to be anything special. My opinion.

"I’ll never own one of them for sure."

Then you won't drive at all, if people of a certain political leaning get their way.
