Is that right? Wife and I are going there in September or October to visit my cousins. We’re waiting until it’s cooler weather. My mother lived in Desert Hot Springs with my Aunt (her sister) and passed away there. One of my cousins lives near Lake Tahoe.

Let me know when you're gonna be here, maybe we can get together if you'd like. You flying in or driving?

Yep that's outta that lake up there by Oregon.

EXACTLY ! Should have posted
that info with the photo !

Correction - in my earlier response,
I had put 'green sunfish', but now realize that it is, indeed, a bluegill !

The shading threw me off a bit - the sunfish I've always been familiar with seemed much 'bluer' - this photo looked more 'greenish' to me, but
then the markings and fins were
what made me reconsider !

"photos"-no I don't have pics of 7" fish. The Perch you are referring to is a Sacaramento Perch, a generic name for trash fish

I put this picture into another post on here, but thought I would do a separate post to see if I might get more responses. I find it fascinating, the number of names we all have for the same fish in different parts of the country. So, these are just about anywhere in the US that folks fish, except for a few places probably, when you catch one what do you call it?

And the second picture, where could I go in California to catch one of those? And what would you calll it?

Handy is what we call them in the hand.

Bluegill

We’ll fly in. Last time we were there we drove. It’s a fer piece from Pasadena, Texas and back. It’s 900 miles from El Paso to Houston and another 25 to home. I’d like nothing better than to meet and go fishing with you Spirit. Thanks for asking.

One of my favorite little lakes is up there right outside of Nevada City. Hopefully we can wet a line in it.

She said they live between Grass Valley and Colfax. Is that close to you?
