Wow! You were born in 27? You’re the end of the greatest generation. You’re my father in laws age except he only made it to 86.
Not sure if I believe you’re 94. You’re pretty savy for your age.

A "pismire" is an ant.
I believe the word you wanted to use is "pishmire" ....a "cranky or unruly s.o.b.", as it were.
My Scots heritage has me knowing that word, & not about to say how or why.....hehehe.....

Thank you for the correction. It was in an old movie that my father in law liked. He used it often in that context.

We have something in common. I started as a cabinetmaker and moved into sales. Cabinet making was a good living but there’s more money is sales. I then started my own business in 93 at 43. I thought I worked hard before but never as hard as having my own business.

I'm with BB. sending young pups into harms way is stupid. they don't know squat. Us older folks don't panic in an unknown situation, are probably better shots, know which way is up, and we all know you don't want to try and pick a fight with an elder, he'll just shoot you. besides gray hair blends with the landscape.

yes! I agree!
I have a nephew who has a tree surgeon company. He told me that he hires young men who want the job but then they’re afraid to climb the tree with the chain saw. I thought a minute and said “ in a young man that’s called fear but in an older man that’s called wisdom!”
My question is: does bravery require wisdom or balls with the belief “ I can do this!” Or self sacrifice? If it’s self sacrifice send an old guy. Hell if it’s balls send an old guy….they’re probably hanging around his knees.

bravery.......the ability to overcome any fear and salvage the situation. a young idiot will unknowingly sacrifice his life for what he perceives as the situation, an elder will have evaluated the situation and choose a winnable solution.

That’s very true. I was in the military and barely 18. Most guys in with me were not much older and none of us knew a whole lot about what we were doing for sure. The best part is we were reachable, quick to respond and agile enough to get in and out in a hurry. Did we make all the right decisions? Definitely not but we were quick about it. Lol. Old age wisdom is pretty slow to come to the surface. It’s a catch 22 if you ask me. I could, definitely, come up with a better solution now but would it be in time is the question I guess.
