I’m new to the forum so hope I am posting this in the right location. I want to get into kayak fishing and after researching the web and watching numerous you tube reviews, I have pretty much trimmed my list down to 3 possibilities - feelfree lure 10, Vibe sea ghost 110 or wilderness systems Tarpon 105. My big problem is finding anyplace in Southern California that sells any of them. I was planning on driving up to Headwaters east of San Francisco but just learned they closed down the retail store. Any information on where to go would greatly be appreciated. Also, if anyone owns any of these kayaks, I love to know there opinions. I have bad knees so the seat comfort and adjustability are major deciding factors. I would also consider starting out with a less expensive lifetime tamarack pro but can’t find those in stock either.
Would help if we knew where you're located. I googled "low desert" just in case, but according to google maps there's no such place. I'm assuming you've looked (at least on line) at sportsman's warehouse and bass pro shops/cabela's. Whatever good size city is near you should have one of those and they might be able to help you out?
Sorry. I live in the Palm Springs area. Closes places are REI and Bass Pro Shop but they don’t carry what I’m looking for. I am willing to do a day drive if anyone knows a shop that carries any or all of my referenced kayaks.
The lake is in the east Sierra called topaz lake. Fishing from the shoreline at dusk and caught six nice smallmouth in an hour. This was just two weeks ago.

Drew, please hit "quote reply" (like I just did) then there won't be any doubt who you're responding to. I'm familiar with Topaz. Been there, but I've never fished it. Aren't there special regs and restrictions? Or am I thinking of somewhere else? Not sure what to tell you about those Kayaks, but surely there should be a source in LA or San Diego? Have you contacted the manufacturers?

I’m not the guy looking for the kayaks.
There are no special regulations on Topaz.
I fished Topaz opening weekend ,no special regs and you can fish a California or Nevada license .
Welcome to the forum Drew! Thank you for sharing your background and interests as well. You still have the "Midas Touch" when it comes to bass, as you are holding up a very nice specimen there!
Very cool with regard to the history you had with the racing circuit and the sports team!

Thank you for your warm reception. Topaz Lake and the West Walker River are surrounded by beautiful scenery. I have had some 40+ trout days and some skunked days on the Walker River. I fish there a couple times a year. Over the last two years I have caught two rainbows over 4 pounds and one over 5 pounds. The town of Walker is very quaint with some nice motels and a great barbecue restaurant. A nice place to go back in time and enjoy California’s great outdoors.

Do you live in Sac?
Yes. Elkhorn and Don Julio area.
I've never written anything on the "Fishing Stage" before, but follow it regularly.....I live in Redding (CA)---Pretty much grew up here, but have been 'around'....5 years in Alaska---talk about some amazing fishin' !!!! I was a helicopter mechanic and spent lots of time in the 'bush', where you couldn't get there any other way than helicopter.....Had some great times....but, back to California....I'm 73, retired electrical contractor...I mainly fish Shasta Lake these days with on old high school buddy....We do what I call "old man fishin'"---troll the perimeter of the lake using mostly crank baits....winter's are usually real slow due to the cold weather and the fish "suspending"....spring and summer pick up considerably as the water temp. increases....We went out yesterday and hooked 11, (bass) -- the week before, 19.....Shasta's a big, beautiful lake with lots of fish----bass, trout, crappie, cats, even sturgeon....lots of tourists, so there are alot of folks out there "playin'"..... the bass fishin' is fantastic and if you live in the area, you should definitely check it out..... The Sacramento River runs thru Redding too and altho I don't fish it much, it's an incredible river for trout, steelhead and salmon....striped bass too...... I also lived in Trinity County for many years too (Next one over from Shasta Co. --Redding--)----I lived right on the Trinity River for years and that's another amazing river for steelhead, salmon and big brown trout.... Over-all, the "North State" is full of fishin' spots.......... Good luck to all of you out there and tight lines !!!!

I’m in Folsom. I’m a retired teacher/coach so have lots of free time. My biggest challenge is finding someone who wants to go fishing with me!
Same problem but live in Vacaville.
