Spirit have you been going to McSwain and catching trout? I haven't been for a while been hitting the carp trail. Summer get there early (sunrise or before) and fish till about 11 not too bad if you are in the shade.
I've been driving down there, but I haven't caught a thing. Saw a lot of pictures of trout that came out of there. Pretty place.

I’m heading up to Eastern Sierras next week, where is Collin Lake located? Which lake is your fav up there?
Collins Lake is a little north of Sacramento about 15 or so miles east of Marysville. Where are you at?
I see, Laguna Beach. Long drive for you. They have a lot of campsites and cabins for rent - boats for rent also. Fall, winter and spring it's got great fishing for bass, panfish, catfish and trout. I don't go anywhere near it in the summer - too close to civilization and it gets crowded, but probably a great place to take the family.

Bass fishing is more of an active pastime than cat fishing, generally speaking. You hafta go looking for the bass, they're mostly ambush predators who sit and wait for their prey to come by. Catfish will do that too, but they also head out and hunt and they will come to you if they smell food in the water. Stinky baits work great for cats. Trout are a different sort of critter altogether. I can go on for days about trout.
Thx spirit for the info. I'll let you know what happens I won't be able to hunt around for the bass. but I'll try plugging the area around . Take care I'll talk to you later.bye.

If you are taking your Eagle fish Gull lake , head towards the back of the lake their is a cabin there take two ankors for your eagle drop one anchor and set it then drop your 2nd anchor that way you won't drift around there are some big Trout in that little lake.
I like using a Thomas Beyoncé Spoon all 3 different patterns and colors.
GRANT LAKE is also one of my favorite lakes but once gets on it the fish stops. (Early morning or evening)
Silver lake use a bubble 1/2full with water 3ft. Leader 2lb. Test line and flies in the evening!!
Good luck have a safe trip

Bassman
And more ? Let me know.
Also a trick I like to use is tread a baby night crawler on your hook and a light split shot 18 to24inches up your line . Want it to look natural.

So I went to lake Gregory in the San Bernardino mountains for the second time and it was very rough. I taught one of my friends a while back how to fish for trout and he was catching them right in front of me. I didn't get very technical I just threw out some power bait just like he did. I will load some pictures the biggest trout is from the first trip just under 6 lb I caught on a small jerkbait the rest are from the second trip.
Thanks for reading.
