Remember that applying heat is how you remove ferrules from a rod.

How the hell do I get it unstuck? I just got a new rod and thanks to covid I couldn't go in store and check to see if it comes apart easy and now I'm stuck with a one piece rod who's eyes aren't even lined up

Good luck in the future and for all an old timer told me to use the oil by your nose for lubricant and alway take them apart and clean them and store apart

run the upper part of the rod (male end) under HOT water, and a couple of pieces of ice cubes against the lower section, wait a minute or so and then try to pull them apart. Running the male end of rod connections through the hair (if you are lucky enough to have any) or on the oil on the side of your nose will keep it working afterward....Good luck1

Put rod behind knees, and spread apart by pulling in different directions.

Have a solder gun? Place the tip on the outside of the main fertile....give it a few seconds.....then turn and pull at same time....if that does not work.....lite machine oil down the joint...let sit a bit......try heat again.....

Being as it's a new rod, better make sure it's a 2 piece.

I heard that the way to go about it, was to "Throw a bucket of ice-water on 'em"... Oh, wait... That was 2 dogs!!!

Try getting your wife or friend to get a hand on each section and pull at the same time you do standing across from you!hard to explain without seeing it done, but usually works just don’t hold the line guides!

Get some penetrating oil - I'm not a fan of WD40. It has its uses, but that's not one of em. Learned that in the Navy. If CWO John Carnell caught you using that chit as oil, he would whack you up side the head. His preference was peppermint oil. And out on the briny, things can get pretty well stuck together, you know?

Sounds like good advise there Spirit. But I’m not sure I’d want Peppermint Oil used on EVERYTHING that might get stuck together out on the briny, ya know!

Sounds kinda goofy, but your right, it does work. Good LORD gave us a lot more strength in our legs than in our arms!
