It is a Rule pump bobber...this one has an internal float.

WOW-- I don't know if I would trust that. If it got some gunk jammed in there it would stop working and you would never know what happened. This could be a good save all. Take half a gallon of water and add a cup of bleach put the pump in there and let it operate. You can also use a cup of white vinegar to one gasllon of water. The bleach is better so I've been told by my air conditioning guy. Have to add the bleach solution once every three months to alleviate the problem with algae which is also a problem in boats. Unless its in use often I wouldn't be concerned with the possible problem. But beware of small snippets of trimmed fishing line and the like as they can get up in there and cause the impeller to lock up. Tight lines and happy boating bro.

The white pump is your three wire bilge pumps. Now you need a charged up battery or turn your bat. switch on. This pump is wired for auto. if there is power to the pump all the time it will signal you by starting to run and then after 4 seconds it will stop. computer chip in pump checks for water and out of nowhere you hear your pump come on. its always checking. Thanks Rick...that’s precisely what it was doing.

I’ve tested a float style bilge by tipping upside down just my two cents😎

My plan for tomorrow...

Hey Danger. Definitely use water to check it n the discharge hose. I though i was good to good when pump came on. Forget the plug filled the belly. Put plug in hit the pump. Discharge hose broken. Just recirculating water

Thanks Griz. I filled up bilge pretty much and it pumped right out...im gonna do another test today. I also ordered a hand held pump for back up. Im not taking chances in the “ sink or swim” department...i got daughters going out with me.
Was pleasantly surprised yesterday when , after sitting since last summer, motor started up with a single turn of the key....cast comes off in 8 days and “ splash”....hahaha.

Just an FYI. Bleach is very hard on plastics. It turns some brittle.

I am a safety oriented after years of being responsible for my clueless clients. I put a second 2500 gal pump in my boat with a manual switch. If you get more water than rain, clean up or a kicked over bucket which is removeable, by your current pump, then you need all the pump power you can get. It is a cheap solution compared to the alternative. And it does not have all the potential problems associated with a float switch. It is also wired directly to the battery through the manual switch. It is still important to keep an eye on the strainer so that it is clean should you ever need the big pump. Stay safe, stay alive and catch lots of fish.

I'm sure you already know not to run the outboard without water going through

Hi Danger. Afer that incident i have 2 pumps in ea boat. In my tracker i use to 90° elbows n n couple short pcs of pvc. Clamped on stern that one gator clamps for battery in case switch goes bad. On glastron i put a pc of garend hose to throw over the side. Gator clips on that one also. No sink or swim for me either if i can help it

Thinking about a second pump...they’re cheap enough and peace of mind is worth it.

For sure. One fill up was enough. After the breaker fiasco on trolling motor i wanted wnd pump direct connection to battery. I just put clamps on strap over battery box. If all that doesn't work I'm in deep doda. Stay safe with the family 😃😃
