The only drawback to that truck is that noisy engine. It sounds like a dump truck. The old 7.3 is a bulletproof engine but it is noisy.

The worse part is the paint. The clearcoat has gone bad on the hood and roof. Of course the headliner and carpet needs replacing. Seats look good but could use a good cleaning.

The '94½ was the first year of the Powerstroke. It doesn't have powerstroke badges on it just "turbo diesel" on the tailgate. It does have the electronic fuel injection system.

The noise is what I like about those trucks.

I was an auto mechanic for years before going into a millwright job. On a 1969 Mustang you have to pull the entire dash out in order to replace the heater hoses.

Engineers sometimes don't use common sense. We once were installing a machine but we couldn't put the last piece in due to a roof drain pipe being in the way. We called the engineers down and they said they didn't know the pipe was there. I asked "did it ever cross your mind to come down here and look at the site?".

Yeah Fish, Ford actually put a specialty designed injector in #8 cylinder to reduce the rattle. When I replaced my injectors last year I replaced them with larger ones eliminating that specific one in #8 and it’s a bit louder now but doesn’t bother me. I’ve been around loud engine’s all my life. From 18 wheelers to the biggest Cat dozers...🐟on

That's exactly what they said. "That pipe wasn't shown on our blueprints". Well, it had been there ever since the building was built. But those engineers would never leave their ivory tower and come down to the production floor and actually look around.

Kinda figured that one from your handle. 😀. My son used to drive long haul. Always enjoyed the sound of his rig when he would pull onto our property after he’d been gone for a couple of weeks.

Yeah sometimes. I’m always asking the wife “what did they say” when we’re watching tv. My hearing is bad when there’s a lot of background noise. Even though I’ve always worn ear protection my hearing is impaired. It won’t be long before I’ll need hearing aids. But I’m hanging out as long as I can...🐟on

Yeah I miss driving especially when I see one of those pretty rigs rolling down the highway. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been behind the wheel. But I still can get some seat time on the dozer. I’ve got a small one I use here around the place...🐟on

My neighbor had borrowed his girlfriend's car for a couple of days and somehow (?.. didn't say) the battery had run down. Asked me for a jump, so I grab my cables and pull up, popped the hood, as had he. Shane just looks up at me quizzically and says.."where the hell is the battery ?"
Turns out that her little Saturn coupe has the battery IN THE TRUNK !!

I have a Buick Park Avenue the battery is under the rear seat lol. There is a hot post under the hood where you can actually jump the car or charge the battery

Back in 1969, I bought a new MGB. It had two 6 volt batteries under the "rear seat" (it WASN'T a seat)! They were wired in series for 12 volts. Each one cost as much as a 12 volt battery, so the cost was double when it came time for new ones. I did a modification so that I could just use a single 12 volt battery with the same capacity as the pair of 6 volt ones, problem solved! When your battery is that far from the engine, you can't get away with #4 gauge battery cables. Wish the engineers could see that! Their main goal is to save every penny possible when manufacturing a vehicle.
