I had an ‘01. 7.3. Best engine ever. 20 mpg pulling a full load over the grapevine. I miss that truck. 🥲

Yeah Fish, this is my forever truck. I’ve had it for 7 years now and short of replacing the motor I’ve been replacing everything from the bumper to bumper making sure everything is new and up to date. I wish I could get 20mpg. 15 is the best I can get...🐟on

We bought ours new in Texas. The emissions might have been different than west coast models. Not sure, just guessing.

No, I don’t have any emissions on it. I think it’s because I have a 6 speed manual with 4-10 rear ends. At 70 mph I’m taching 2300 rpm’s ...🐟on

Still got my 1994½ F250 PowerStroke. It looks bad but I love that truck. Maybe I should restore it.

If you’ve got the means why not. You’ll be driving a new 19941/2 truck for a fraction of the cost of a new one. And a better one...IMO 🐟on

The only drawback to that truck is that noisy engine. It sounds like a dump truck. The old 7.3 is a bulletproof engine but it is noisy.

The worse part is the paint. The clearcoat has gone bad on the hood and roof. Of course the headliner and carpet needs replacing. Seats look good but could use a good cleaning.

The '94½ was the first year of the Powerstroke. It doesn't have powerstroke badges on it just "turbo diesel" on the tailgate. It does have the electronic fuel injection system.

The noise just means that it’s a real truck. Not a want-a-be... I also had a’96 that I gave to my grandson last year. It’s in real good condition. So it will go through another generation...🐟on

I generally regret replacing with new. New refrigerator sucks, dishwasher sucks, etc. I am keeping the 2000 F-150 Lariat 4x4 Supercab. 20 years of good service. Little rust popping on the rocker panels. Repairing as it goes on everything else. Can’t stand the thought of 60k plus to replace.

Shinny new rods, reels, and more...bring it on.

my thoughts exactly. If it breaks I fix it and just keep driving it...🐟on

Jwid earlier post:
I had to remove the gas pedal on a Volvo to replace the cabin air filter.

I was an auto mechanic for years before going into a millwright job. On a 1969 Mustang you have to pull the entire dash out in order to replace the heater hoses.

Engineers sometimes don't use common sense. We once were installing a machine but we couldn't put the last piece in due to a roof drain pipe being in the way. We called the engineers down and they said they didn't know the pipe was there. I asked "did it ever cross your mind to come down here and look at the site?".
