It is what it is, and $600 is my limit, or it's back to the float tube.

I have just a regular sit on top kayak that I fish from , lakes, ponds, and Monterey Bay, just don't go out when theres rough water. Limited on space but it works for me.

When I replied to DD I was specifically referring to a FISHING kayak. One set up already for fishin.
There are PLENTY of kayaks that you can buy under $600.00 and then set up for fishin, but they aren't specifically designed as fishin kayaks.
That's why I suggested to go to a site LIKE craigslist.
I own 2 kayaks that you could use to fish out of, but they aren't FISHING kayaks. Plus both of them are paddle kayaks.
I wish nothing but the best of luck to you. Post some pics of your kayak when you get one. Thanks.

Check out VIBE kayaks. Good stable kayak for the money. Also consider an inflatable. Sea Eagle makes a good quality kayak in your price range and you don't have many transportation or storage problems.

That might be my best route then, if I don't get any input to the contrary.

Hi David, what exactly are you willing to spend with $600? The kayak itself or a kayak already rigged for fishing?
I'll see how I can help :-)

I have a mini x that is awesome and stable. I don't know current pricing but I paid $450 a few years ago.

Nice fish Ranger. Glad you can get out on your yak and catch em.
Like I said, I have 2 different yaks and I've never fished from either really. Course, I haven't taken either one of them out in many years.

Hey Crankit47... Agree 100%, My OldTown 10 foot sit-in is perfect. I’m an old guy too and kayak weighs 44 pounds and I can easily get it up on roof rack and then throw it on a set of kayak wheels to drag it to some pretty good bass fishing spots hidden in the woods up here in Maine.

Thanks, we go out a lot on them, done a lot of kayaking on the 395 from Bridgeport to Bishop lots of good trout lakes, plan on doing more fishing on them this year. Just light fishing the regular fishing kayaks are just too big for me to man-handle around.

LM, Smallies, and stripers have been my thing. This year I’m going to try Flagstaff lake up by Sugarloaf for trout, some of the boys have told me that trout fishing up there is pretty good, so I got a try it out for myself. Anybody have any advice about using spinner baits for trout?? Martin in Maine

IDK bout spinner baits like you use for bass fishin, but the inline spinners like Panther Martins, Rooster Tails and Mepps work great.
