Perception makes the Sound... and Cabelas also has model in your price range.
A good friend, who is a big guy, fished out of a Pelican for years, and it is still floating, also in your price range!

I have seen Wildnerness Systems 10 foot Tarpon kayaks listed for 599, 2020 models I think.

Good Luck!

Lot of guys buy yaks and find out they don't much like them and they end up on Craigs List at a good price.
I think I would try to go that route just get a good brand with a few extras on it. Guys on this forum will let you know what brands to be looking out for. If you want one wait till one comes along rather than going cheap and not being happy.

Watch youtube videos from Headwaters Kayaks. He rates them in all price ranges.

It is what it is, and $600 is my limit, or it's back to the float tube.

Try Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for a good used one. I sold my Jackson Cruise 12’ last year for 650 and it was all decked out. You might get lucky like the guy who bought mine.
