I have a Rapala like the one pictured. I would figure they float with the wooden handle. Rapala wouldn't sell as many knives if they floated though.

You think that's why cell phones start acting up in about 3 years. They might be programed to do that so they can keep making money off us.

I had a buck that I loved, folding @3inch blade. Got dark on the pier, bunch of guys rushed in as I was packing to leave and it disappeared. Loved that knife.

Agreed, Spirit! There's something about a good knife having legs! I've had several of those filet knives. In my opinion they do not hold an edge well. Not as well as homemade knives made from hacksaw blades. Just Sayin...RJS

Ive had all shapes and sizes of filet knives. My current favorite is a 9 inch Dexter. They make a real nice knife. It's my favorite because I haven't lost it yet.

Radios on boats, CAN BE real "life-savers"... I worked a couple trips/ Capt. Harold Bothwell, on the Francis Yvonne (as well as a trip on the Receiver/ him, a couple years earlier); on that steel-hulled SLAB; he had 2x VHF, a SSB/ UHF; 2x RADARS; an RDF; & I THINK = 3x"sound machines"(depth-finders)... AM/FM; a television set/ a huge, remote controlled-directional TV antenna... & some more, that wheelhouse was SLAM-FULL of electronics!!

I have one of those knives but the handle has gotten really loose + the metal ring around the wood is pretty loose. I like the one with the molded plastic handle and we use it almost every time we need a sharp knife in the kitchen and around the house.

Got two of Dad's. A 4" and a 7". I don't even let the wife touch-em.. She want's to put them in the dish washer and that will wreck the handle.

What kinda knife is this. Have they been around long. What kind do you use. What size do you like. Do they hold an edge. Unscramble this and you might have one on your boat
DAORI.

I have three of those Rapala filleting knives. I bought mine probably 20 years ago. I think mine are 9โ€ and are very sharp. I donโ€™t listen to the radio often enough.

I think Spirit has it right, about filet knives "growing legs"... I had one of my own & one that was Dad's & now don't see ANY Rapala filet knives... I'm planning on just "sticking with" the Dexter-Russel's, at this point. I also have had problems/ the handles on the Rapala(s).

I have 3 rapala filet knives, two 7โ€ and one 4โ€ and use them all the time in the kitchen. I also have a Camillus 7โ€ filet knife and itโ€™s blade is the most flexible blade Iโ€™ve ever seen or used. It holds an edge better than the rapala does. Iโ€™m a bank fisherman and a radio has no place in my tackle box!
