That would be the Rapala fillet knife, I have a radio in my boat, but I never use it.

What! It didn't know how to swim. I thought all fillet knives knew how to swim, just like rods and reels.

They swim all the way to the bottom.
A fond memory, ice fishing on Lake Washington in Minnesota as a teen.
Got a new one from my dad and was under the impression that the way it was designed and the lightweight handle that it would float.
Sitting in 6 feet of water in our ice house and I said "check it out -it floats" and proceeded to drop it in the hole.
As I watched it swirl to the bottom and stick in with the handle up, I thought to myself "moron"!
Got to look at it for the next 3 or 4 hours.

That is what a magnet on a string is for.

And that was a fond memory? I understand, the ice fishing was. Gotcha!
I have a few of those Rapala (Marttini) filet knives about 7” long. Strong, sharp, flexible and will hold an edge. No, they neither float nor swim.
I do not have a radio on the boat, either unless I am listening to a Badgers, Packers or Brewers game.

I have a VHF radio on board. Keep it on channel 16
Gotta understand, as a 16 year old I was slightly "impaired" when we were out on the ice - clearly not thinking straight or problem solving past one hand for beef jerky, one hand for beer, one eye for the bobber and the other eye on that darn knife!
I agree - the boat came with a stereo but the only time it's on is when I'm sittin in the driveway tying lures, working on the boat or "organizing" my tackle box.
Fishing is for peace and quiet
Second that! fishing is for peace and Nature's sounds. Guys that bring boom boxes to the pier drive me nuts!

Oh, I have one of those, but it is usually off. Like the other one.

But the Marine radio did save my butt once when I was 27 miles from the dock, the outboard took a crap, and I had to call my buddy and he had to tow me in.
All the fishing stuff I've accumulated over the years, I do not presently own a fillet knife. I sure haven't needed one this year. The last one I had disappeared, just like all the rest of em. It looked just like the one in the picture. I once had a Buck that I spent a little more money on, but it ran away from home just like the cheaper ones. I've said on here before, I think maybe there's an unwritten rule that fellow fishers never mess with one another's gear, unless it's a fillet knife, and those seem to be fair game. That's the only item I've ever had taken in 60 or so years of fishing.
