I wash up on the beach by the hundreds at times in San Diego. I'm about 3 or 4 inches long.
I'd have to guess some kind of shrimp Larry but I've really never seen anything like that

Being an East Coaster I’m at an extreme disadvantage. Some sort of crustacean I would guess???

Well, I’ve seen vast patches of what I thought were krill but never got close enough to actually pick any up.

That looks like something I picked up on the beach. I thought it was a shrimp.
Lol, and the little thing was poking my finger. It didn't hurt but I could feel it.
I put him back in the water. I bet something chased him into the shallows
and he got to close.

Not sure of the name, but damn sure it's not krill. A decapod crustacean, no doubt, but the brilliant color is throwin' me.....guess I will have to wait till tomorrow.....
