I just recently watched a video on YouTube that gives the top five lures to use during the spawn for lunker's AKA Monster Bass and from memory and personal favorite this time of year the second highest rated and hardest hit would be a Spinner Bait but you'll need to find the correct color for the water color your fishing in. I'd highly recommend going to YouTube and searching "Best lures to Use During the Spawn" some great info on all of them...... Happy hunting (fishing)
First, some bed fish will just not bite. Or some take a very long time to get to bite. The wacky worm idea is good. But here is the deal, speed is the key. Sometimes a slow fall or drag into the bed works, other times itβs ignored. So also try a heavier rigged tube or something that falls really fast into the bed area. That may trigger them. Finally a drop shot is a really good choice cause you can raise and lower it and never leave the bed.
Underwater Sight Fishing - Which Lures Work Best?π£π π π π π
Ever wondered why one lure works better than another? Let's head underwater to see the differences between a variety of swimbaits. As we watch, Tim explains why each bait is effective and how to use it most effectively.
Ever wondered why so many youtubers throw small swimbaits for their underwater footage? This is why! Its very easy to get a bass interested in a swimbait. Bass are hardwired to defend their nests against predators.
Swimbaits are a perfect imitation of a variety of predators that bass face. However, a swimbait is rarely the best bait for CATCHING the bed fish. For this style of fishing they have an incredibly poor hookup to land ratio. You're much better off using a small swimbait as a tool to aggravate the fish, then using a traditional bait to get the final bite.

ΒΏDo you notice them eating bugs of any sort, off the top of the water? Ya gotta β on them, a few different times of the day. I have eaten alot of largemouth, that was taken early or late.

If they're eating anything off the top of the water, & you ain't got a flyrod, get ya one of those tiny cork poppers, designed to be fly-fished; tie it to the end of your line (take that snap-swivel offa there) then a medium bobber 6 or 8 feet, up from the end & fish it like that, "swim it" passed the rascals.
Empty the box . Use the bait that you get a hit on . Then stop trying new baits . Because you already found what works.
