Hate Boats who Don't respect Fishing Boat.
I love kids. In fact I raised 4 of them and spent alot of time pulling them in tubes , skis and wakeboards. I always tried to be respectful of fishermen. Now I try to fish before the kids get out of school (spring) after they go back to school(fall) early mornings on weekdays in the summer. Too many ya-hoo's in the water and at the launches during peak summer. I thought my patience was supposed to improve with age? Not yet!
May the good Lord help you one day we will all figure it out. God bless you and your family keep fishing It's a Wonderful therapy. Catch Em Up
You know I was thinking about this while I was in back yard picking up after my dogs. Maybe somebody who is familiar with the law like an attorney or Law Enforcement could contribute. I watch a number of TV shows, game warden shows where they have ticketed various dangerous boating behavior like coming too close to a boat at "high speed". I am wondering if videoing them, thus getting registration numbers or some sort of ID to track down, maybe they can be held accountable!
Good point Kerry and with smart phone technology very doable. I know home owners have done what you are suggesting because of wake problems in their areas. One problem is calling in an ID number its word against word. It is a little difficult to put down the rod every time a boat is in the vicinity and the wake action while filming depending on the craft can be a factor to. Also I hate to mention it, but the retaliation of those being accused is a deterrent as well. I have heard of property damages from dock fires, boat plugs removed, and even verbal threats. Not sure about maritime law but I think it is the same that unfortunately the accused has the right to face their accuser. So any legal folks out there like Kerry mentions please respond.

I like the way you think Tartar Sauce. Growing up if I had been as disrespectful as so many boaters and JET SKIS my Father would have worn my rear end and I would not have been able to go fishing for a long time. I don't know if it's being disrespectful or just never taught any better. It can ruin an otherwise good day of fishing.

I agree. But they're not always kids. Plenty of disrespectful adults out there wrecking it for everyone, too.
Seems the way our country is heading!
It starts at supervision! It isn’t the kids vault what is going wrong in this world! It is our! We give them everything they WANT! WE ARE all spoiled in America! EAT, EAT and EAT!!! But the DAY is coming!
There's a bunch of parents who need a good whooping . Can't fix Stupid .
Up here in the north east game wardens don’t take kindly to that nonsense. A phone call to them with a picture of boat and registration will get you some payback. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen over night
