bapabear, thanks! It will be a while before it's done but I know a local taxidermist that does great work. I had him do a deer head for me and it turned out beautiful. When it gets done, I assume 6 months to 1 year, I will be sure to post it.

My son-in-law and I had a great day on the ice today. Same lake as last time, same spot. Couldn't catch a pike for nothin. BUT...I DID catch a bluegill over 11" long with a huge girth along with several 8 and 9 inchers. 20 keepers and about as many smaller ones. My son-in-law caught several bass around 18" as well. I can't explain why we didn't get pics of the bass. Lol.

Now that’s a nice size Bluegill.

I lived between Ann Arbor and Jackson, and fish a few lakes there. I caught one that was very large in a small lake, on my fly rod. I actually thought it was a large bass. Nope just very large bluegill. Michigan has a lot of them. Good eating and nice catch. Thanks for the pics.

Gary W Allen, I plan on it. It also qualifies for a master angler certificate and patch. I plan on applying for that as well!

Thanks Harris T. Fudpucker! I fished a friends farm pond as a kid and used to catch lots of 8 to 10 inchers but NEVER this big. As you can tell from the pics it's actually over 11". I WILL be getting it mounted.

Those poor gillies were in that freezing water until yall rescued them. I strongly recommend taking them to your kitchen spa and give um a hot oil treatment a.s a.p.

Bcmech 1, thanks! It was fun. Here's a better pic of that big one to give it more perspective.
