The beam raised back up bout 3 inches but it still looks like it is probably cracked. βΉπ
I forgot to take a pic of the shoveled roof.
Will post the before and after pics tomorrow.
I'm not walking back around the house through the snow any more tonight.
I'm a little sore and its Miller time.ππ

The main thing is that you are safe and healthy after all hard work sorry to hear that the beam might actually be cracked ππ€¬

Goin down to Carson City tomorrow and I'll pick up a support post. Don't want to leave here without at least something under that beam for extra support.
Can't believe I'm not hurtin this mornin.
I actually feel fine. Praise the Lord. ππ

Well, bad news. That beam is definitely broken.
I went out back today to take some pics of the cleared roof and you can see the sag in the middle of the roof.
Oh well. It is what it is.
Goin to brace the beam up tomorrow so it will have support if it snows again.
I'm not sure how that beam can be replaced without takin the roof off.
However, I'm sure gonna try.
The last pic is yesterday's job when I started.
That's a 6 foot chain link fence, and that snow is so packed down I can walk on the top of it there and not even sink at all.βπ―

When the time comes, hopefully you can jack it up on either side. Then replace the beam, and let it back down. That's a lot of snow brother, hopefully some melts before you get more.

I have seen them added on to. Jack up to get weight on ground then they added wood to existing beam instead of removing it. The drywall will have to go away but could be added back to the splint essentially. If it wasn't in middle of room a post in middle would be good.

Yeah, the rest of the house still has 5 feet of heavy snow on it.
However, the main house and bedrooms have three 5x11 inch beams running through each different room.
Plus they aren't as long as the back room beam.
