I was looking at a westMarine inflateable and saw the following disclaimer "not intended for weak or non-swimmers." While I know how to swim pretty good it made me wonder why this disclaimer? I thought the whole idea of a life jacket was to keep you safe if you got to tired to swim or maybe became effected by the cold water or something. If it is only good for strong swimmers that are doing ok in the water what is the point? Tell you the truth I can swim better with out a life jacket but wear them incase I am in a situation where I am to tired to keep treading water or swim.

Lol I just got my flyer out of mailbox a little bit ago. Have ya guys used these from BPS. I just read that they are made in China also one of the questions was about if it would keep your head up out of water. The answer was you have to keep your head up so hope no one gets knocked out 😳

I have not but if they are sold at BPS/Cabelas I am sure they have the proper coast guard rating and will do what is needed. Keep your face out of the water. If not some one would have sued them years ago.
I will check there ratings before purchase.

Go USPS! We all got the flier on the same day! We are pretty spread out!

I was looking at PFD'S . The self / manual inflating type. The prices, $70. to $300. I just want one that fits good, so I'll keep it on while fishing and not take it off, because it hinders my movements while fishing.
Does anyone have any preferences for them?

Might want to check out BlueStorm (bluestormgear.com)
We have their “Atmos 40” and have been really happy with them.
We fish cold water, high mountain lakes and along the Pacific ciast and want more buoyancy in our pdf, because we are usually bundled up in warm bulky clothes. The extra buoyancy should help us float if we ever go in
