I was looking at PFD'S . The self / manual inflating type. The prices, $70. to $300. I just want one that fits good, so I'll keep it on while fishing and not take it off, because it hinders my movements while fishing.
Does anyone have any preferences for them?

Mustang. Test it within 6 years. The service period is 5 years if I am not mistaken. They are awesome and can be manually activated. Whenever they are activated ( manually or automatically ) you need to replace the šŸ’Š pill and cartridge. Iā€™m using slang but water melts the trigger or you break it if activated manually.

I have 2 Mustangs. You have to be wearing them while in the boat to count toward your number of flotation devices on board. There is also a tube on them so you can blow it up to test it.

Well thats a duh moment. You were Officially Trained to know where the rope is at all times. Now enquiring minds need to know good buddy.

??

Are you warning some of us about who may not be really safe around the rope on board our vessels?

Someone is lucky they didnā€™t go overboard with the šŸ¦€ Crabpot.

Another law that makes 100% sense. Itā€™s pointless to have a safety device that you will try and find after itā€™s too late. The captain I usually charter with always states that if I am wearing ( the captain / his crew ) life vest itā€™s a very good idea that everyone aboard gets one on.

My wife and I were camping, and I went out in my kayak without my PFD. I didn't want to leave my yak at the boat ramp while I ran back to the campsite. I paddled along the shore to our site and had my wife throw my PFD to me. I'm sure y'all can see where this is going. The inflatable PFD isn't heavy, and she was throwing into the wind. It blew up in the air and landed in the water next to me. Poof!

West Marine is where i purchased mine. Cartridge type, recommended 3 year replacement for the cartridge. Fits snug and no problem with casting.
