Hello everyone, I’m Tristan I’m 11 yes old and I love everything fishing. My Grandpa takes me whenever we can. We mostly fished saltwater until I wanted to try fresh water and streams. I have my own poles for salt and freshwater. Being new to freshwater what is some good spinner bait, popper style and jigs. How do you enter Blydenburg lake and when is a good time to go? Thank you for your expertise and any help.

Hello Tristin: I am happy to see you are a dedicated fisherman at 11 and that your grandfather takes you.

Sorry, but I am not able to help with the lake you asked about. However, there should be others to come along and give you advice. Just Sayin...RJS

Hi Tristan, and welcome to the Stage. There are many experts on here who will be more than willing to help. Hopefully someone comes along with some knowledge of your lake you referenced.
Pick up a Mepps spinner, a beetle spin, a Hula Popper, a Jitterbug and some slip bobbers, stops, pinch on sinkers and some #6 Aberdeen hooks.
Good luck!

Welcome to the Stage Tristan. It's great seeing a young lady so enthusiastic about the great sport of fishing. OJ, has given you an excellent selection of sure fire tackle, to get you started. Don't worry there's lot's more, once you master these. Hat's off to your Grandpa for taking you out. Hopefully someone from the Island will be along with information about your lake. Meanwhile Good Luck, and Tight Lines!

Welcome to the Forum, Tristan, Sorry, I know nothing about Blydenburg Lake, but I do know that freshwater fish love nightcrawlers.

Well...Fred.... not sure where you got the idea that it was 'a young lady'.... have known several people named "Tristan", mostly through my daughter and helping with Boy Scouts, absolutely all have been male !
I suppose there could be some female "Tristans" out there, but let's not run off what may be our youngest member, by making any assumptions, either way.

But hey, now that I think about it, an acquaintance that owns women's apparel shop in Ashland, goes by Fred or Freddie......HER name is Fredericka, so..........???

You're absolutely correct Fix, I saw Gordon's reference to a female, and ran with it. Tristan I'm very sorry if I've mistakenly identified you. Please forgive me. In work, my Plant Manager has a niece named Tristan, who works at the shop as a summer intern.

Went to school with a girl named Samantha. She still goes by Sam. Guess you can just never tell until you see them or they tell you
