Danger are you saying that you don't have a fluro leader?

Braid ready spools have a rubber band inserted into the arbor of the spool itself. This allows you to tie the braid directly onto the rubber band. Tying the braid directly to the rubber band will allow you to have a good hold on the fish you fight.

Miss communication here Danger.
I tie on to the rubber band also no fluro needed there. The way your original post was, it sounded like you don't use a fluro leader that you tie braid directly to the lure.

Yeah plum…I took braid ready as if you didnt need fluro…i guess as braid got more popular, they started making reels that didnt need to be tied off to fluro. I gotta be honest…it makes no difference to me . I have reels that needed fluro and braid ready reels…

I have fished for over 60 yrs and have just started using braid myself, after moving to Central Florida and started fishing sea trout, mangrove snapper and redfish etc. My wife and I recently went on a guided trip out of the Crystal River area of Florida. Our guide recommended that I try 10 lb power pro V2 slick braided line on my inshore setup. I too have concerns about birds nests and wind knots, but this has not been a problem. You definitely can cast further because there is less resistance. You also have great line sensitivity. The 10 pound has the mono diameter of 2 to 4 pound mono, so it is a little more difficult to use. I am using the 10 pound braid on a 2500 Diawa Black Gold spinning reel mounted to a 7 foot Loomis medium light inshore rod and it is the bomb. I have learned to tie a uni to uni knot for attaching the leader, although using the fg knot would be preferable.Good luck with tying the fg! Tight lines.
On using braid I always start with monofilament backing for about ten yards.this stops braid from loosening up on the spool with use. Fluorocarbon leader with a uniknot is a good idea as it isn't as visible to the fish.
Unless i missed it in a previous post is one thing you DON'T DO with braid is cast into the wind. Thus you get the bird nest effect, but called wind knots instead.
Most braid lines recommend monofilament backing and knots to join the monofilament to the braid as well as fluorocarbon leaders.

I think it depends on the reel. I tie on to my Penn's with a double uni knot and have never had a slip.
I prefer braid on spinning reels but like bknecht said above, I use a 6-8 foot fluoro leader for most applications. I can direct tie a crank bait to the braid and it doesn't seem to matter, but probably out of habit, I usually use the fluoro leader.

You never have to worry about the memory of the line ( coils) if you have problems tying knots in braid tie a short leader of mono or fluoro using a double uni or something equivalent plus you'll cast farther and you can put more line on your reel because the braid has smaller diameter🇺🇸🎣😀👍
