Red and white bobbers are designed with a push button on the top, red side but both have a hook to catch the line giving you the option for how to rig it. Ive always hooked at the white side and usually with a double loop through the hook to keep small line from sliding through. But if you use enough weight, you can also hook it on the while end and the red end and with the right weight it will ride red side up. If you can see the white side better, make it the upside, the fish really don’t care.
