I noticed that my round white and red fishing bobber would float upside down with the red side facing up. I seem to be hooking it to the line correctly. Anybody else would know why?

I like weighted bobbers, they cast a mile. I have drilled a little hole to put some water in. They not only cast farther the float correctly and offer less resistance when finicky fish peck at it.

I was thinking it's possibly a weighted bobber that has a production flaw, weighted on the wrong slde.

I love fishing with red and white bobbers. Most of my catfish are caught in under 4 feet of water with them. And most in just two foot. And just just like DC said. I always go red up for the same reason. It seems to me they would be harder to see from the bottom. But when the bobber settles white side up, I know it is tangled.

I need the yellow and orange ones, much easier for my aging eyes ......

That's simple, it's painted upside down. You have to use a reverse bobber with a under over sinker to resolve the problem. And a under over hand casting rod
.

Gravity! the heaviest part attached to the bobber will pull it's end down. So if you have more weight on hook end of line from bobber and it is attached to the white end it will pull that end down and red side will be up.

My Dad taught me bluegill fishing to fasten to the bottom white only. It was our early warning system. The cork would lay on its side. As soon as the cork would upright it was in their mouth.

Theres a small button that sticks up on the white end, twist button 1/2 turn left to inflate and then blow into it.twist button 1/2 turn right to close and it should float white side up.

A round bobber can be hooked several ways. I hook the top of the bobber wire closer to the line going to the pole. The bottom bobber wire is hooked to the line closer to the hook.
It sounds to me like you’re hooking the bobber (white half) and not hooking the bottom half (red).

Yep. Make sure the button you push to attach to the line is toward the line from the rod, not to the hook.
