Dave that exactly what mine did last yr. The noise in my ears was so annoying. I went to get cortisone shot but they sent me to therapy. Twice a week for four weeks. She pulled n stretched my neck. I had limited side to side ability. One session she was pressing on my neck when I felt a snap n a little pain.Soon after that my neck started feeling better. When it starts feeling bad I start doing the exercises she gave me. Cold damp weather is not my friend. Good luck brother 👍

I’m glad that therapy worked for you,Griz. I’ve given that a shot a couple of times and hasn’t helped. They just say “you’ve got arthritis” sorry…🐟on

I was surprised it worked as well as it did. They always send you to therapy before they do anything else. Guess everyone gets a piece of the pie Dave. I got a shot of cortisone in my hand n it helped for awhile. I'll try a 2nd one. Took 2 to help my shoulder. That's our reward for busting our backs all those yrs🥴

Saw an old episode of Magnum yesterday where he donated bone marrow and didn't want to be knocked out. Dang that sure looks uncomfortable.

Good luck with that 7 pack, hope it helps until the procedure.

Plum, No it is no fun at all to have a marrow draw and they don't put you to sleep for it. They offered a valium just before they start but I figured It'd be over before the pill kicked in so I just tough it out. It involves a VERY large needle, they put you on your stomach and shove that needle into the highest part of you hip bone. the draw last a couple minutes while they scramble the marrow around some with the needle and draw. then to the other hip for more of the same. there's a serious amount of pressure to get through the bone then the rest is just laying there taking it. It's no fun but I did this for a friend with cancer many years ago, back when I was a tough guy, so I kinda knew what I was in for before they started. My next visit I'll get the draw in about a month so I'll be sore a few days after.

Good news this morning I'm feeling much better, the neck is a good bit more mobile and the muscle spasms are gone, amazing what one day of a steroid pack will do... so will we fish today???? we'll see how it goes.

Morning all, The crick in my neck that started Sunday morning turns out to be Arthritis in the joint below my scull and C1 vertebra. It's pinching several nerves and causing muscles to spasm with not a lot they can do without cleaning out some of the spurs. The Doc. started my on a steroid pack yesterday with hopes it will reduce some swelling and take some pressure off the nerves and hopefully give a little room in there. Now it's hard to move my head to look to either side or even open my mouth very wide. I know this is miserable and severely cutting into my fishing time. With a little luck the steroids will get me back on the water soon. I'm right in the middle of a stem cell procedure for my back and the Doc. hopes this will help that area some too and he's not alone hoping it'll help.

Good news Ivey, I'd give it 1 more day to help the healing process IMO, so as you don't mess yourself up again too soon, just MO, I've had quite a few cortisone injections in my knees over the years ,and then think I can go and play right away but end up making myself sore again for afew more days and have to self medicate 🍺🍻

Interesting Ivey that episode i mention with Magnum must have researched his part well. From what you say and his acting it looks and sounds painful. Sure hope the friend appreciated your painstaking experience.

He did Plum, he lived to age 55 he was 38 when it all started but the cancer came back and got him. He was a very close friend we were born on the same day, same hospital had the same blood type, he was 32 minutes older than me. I can still hear him saying like an old man, "boy I can remember when I was your age" we'd always get a kick out of that... He still holds the Tennessee State Record for Cutthroat Trout at 8 OZ. They stocked some here in TN years ago and they didn't survive but he caught one and had it recorded.

That is one cool story Ivey, not the passing of your friend but the history between you two. Friends like that don't come along to often. We all should be so fortunate to have someone that we would give our marrow too if they needed it.

There was never any thought put into it, I know if I had ever needed anything Phil would have been there for me. He was one of the best fishing partners I ever had and his passing really took the wind out of me. That was 1978, Phil's on the right
