RJS, It's not the getting old that bothers me, it's the falling apart thing that really hurts. Getting old ain't for sissies.
I had a good friend who used to say that all the time. He was an 80+ years old cowboy, tuff as nails but still riding his horse and his Harley all the time; even tho he had cancer and had been going to Texas for treatments the past couple years. He went on to Heaven in December; no more pain or cancerā¦.

Sorry for your loss Randy. Time is undefeated. The heavyweight champ. Eventually it takes us all out.

Don't worry guys I'll be fishing soon, mentioned it to the wife this morning and got shut down real quick but even if I gotta fake it I'll be back in the boat ASAP.
Hey Ivey. I have that. I carry a roll on bottle of peppermint oil and it helps a bunch. Donāt last real long but gets me through the day. Iām kinda chicken to go under the knife for anything. Mine keeps me from turning my head a lot and is really painful but the peppermint oil really helps until you can get something else figured out. Good luckš

Thanks, Greg. Youāre right about that! Pete lived a good, long life, but we have no guarantees. I shed a few tears for him today, just thinking back on some of our times together. You may have read my post some time ago about working on Peteās shop attic and falling through the ceiling. Fortunately, a brace caught me and kept me from going on down to the concrete floor, 10ā below. Olā Pete heard the crash clear from inside his house and came runninā to see what āall the noise was aboutā, climbed up into the attic, and sat with me till the ambulance arrived.
I loved that guyā¦. but like I said, Iāll see him again, and when we meet up, weāll both be healed of all our old-age ailmentsā¦..

Morning all, The crick in my neck that started Sunday morning turns out to be Arthritis in the joint below my scull and C1 vertebra. It's pinching several nerves and causing muscles to spasm with not a lot they can do without cleaning out some of the spurs. The Doc. started my on a steroid pack yesterday with hopes it will reduce some swelling and take some pressure off the nerves and hopefully give a little room in there. Now it's hard to move my head to look to either side or even open my mouth very wide. I know this is miserable and severely cutting into my fishing time. With a little luck the steroids will get me back on the water soon. I'm right in the middle of a stem cell procedure for my back and the Doc. hopes this will help that area some too and he's not alone hoping it'll help.

Hey, Ivey. I too suffer from arthritis in my neck and actually the whole spine. The pain that I get in my neck, which is the equivalent to a migraine, only comes on occasionally. Every 7 to 10 days like clockwork. I can bank on it. Some of you may recall that about a month ago I started a procedure that is called āRadio Frequency Abilationā (RFA) google or YouTube it. I had it done on my lower back for arthritis pain last week and I am totally impressed with the results. Itās a simple and virtually pain free procedure. I am now in pursuit of having it done to my neck. It will be worth your time to check into itā¦šon

Iām really happy that the roll on works for you, but weāre you diagnosed with arthritis or could it be a muscle pain. I know that Iāve tried the peppermint and various otherās. My daughter is into essential oilās. Even tried CBD and nothing even touches it.Nether heat or ice.
Thatās how it is in my case, anyway. When Iām having a episode my neck sounds like when your squeezing a empty water bottleā¦šon

Be careful of that steroid pack Ivey. If i recall its a 7 day thing which isn't to bad. It's when they push another and another can get addictive. Also read up on the side effects. I got cranky as all get out on that stuff.

We discussed the Addictive part yesterday, I will NOT be dependent on any drug and let the Doc. know it. It is a 7 day pack and i've taken these before for my lower back years ago and I think I'll be able to handle them. Like I said Plum, I've been down that pill mill road and will never travel it again. That's one of the problems with Degenerative Disk Disease all most Doctors want to do is push pill at you to deal. The Stem Cell procedure I'm taking has very little down time and no surgery, drawing the bone marrow from my hip is the worst part and that don't last but a cfew minutes.

Plum,my dad dealt with a lot of different issues and they would prescribe steroids. Every time he took them, his sugar would skyrocket. Then they would give him insulin. Every time it was the same thing

I hope it helps you out Ivey. Kathy has some in her back, and when it acts up it takes her out of doing anything. She's seeing a specialist, and is waiting on MRI results now. Good luck buddy.

Saw an old episode of Magnum yesterday where he donated bone marrow and didn't want to be knocked out. Dang that sure looks uncomfortable.
Good luck with that 7 pack, hope it helps until the procedure.

Dave that exactly what mine did last yr. The noise in my ears was so annoying. I went to get cortisone shot but they sent me to therapy. Twice a week for four weeks. She pulled n stretched my neck. I had limited side to side ability. One session she was pressing on my neck when I felt a snap n a little pain.Soon after that my neck started feeling better. When it starts feeling bad I start doing the exercises she gave me. Cold damp weather is not my friend. Good luck brother š
