I REALLY enjoyed the video but hated the stupidity and destruction of some nice boats. I am a boat enthusiast and owner and find it difficult to figure how these people make such flagrant mistakes. When I first began boating, I would forget to pull in my anchor, every now and then. Now, I have a rule, for everything that must be done, I stop and take a LONG pause and make sure everything has been done correctly. For example, launching boat- I have a set of things to be done. Anchoring boat-List of things to be done. Lifting anchor to move boat- List of things. Ready to trailer boat- list of things to be done. Boat on trailer and before pulling from water- list of things. Boat out of water and parked -List of things to do etc. etc. It is not something to just hurry through. As for on the water, if you are rude it is obvious and water is where karma will get you. I am amazed at how many pople are unaware of basic nautical rules. Thank you for sharing the video.

If y’all are ever bored, go to a boat launch ramp and watch the idiots. These are very dangerous people who do not belong operating a boat. Makes me wonder how they got their boat to the ramp in the first place.

If you want to kick it up a notch, take a jug of coffee, a flask and a folding chair on a weekend holiday. Why not, You would be crazy to go fishing then anyway. If you want a close up, bring a rod with weight but no hook Set your chair in sound distance but out of the way for your safety. Cast out and, prop your rod up on a stick, kick back and enjoy. The reason I say no hook is that you may get a bite and distracted about the same time a rouge launcher rolls in. Never take your eye off the ramp!! Safety Note: Don't over do it with the flask. You do not want to become part of the show.

Watching some of these videos, what bothers me is seeing some idiot doing a couple of thousand dollars worth of damage and acting like it's funny.

I posted something re read it then edited it before it went to the attic. It is hard to be funny without offending someone. I think maybe I should go back to being just a fishing digest.

Didn't mean to start controversy between FS MEMBERS. I'll try to do better on my post.

No worries Gordon. We’re all adults here and some of us even act like it. 🤪. There will never been anything on here that offends or upsets me. It’s my choice to read rigit?😉

I am all for a new regulation that prevents anyone under 70 owning a boat. It will not necessarily make the water any safer, but it will make my fishing better. How many responses will I get that agree but change the age to younger or older?

I’ll go along with that one but change the age to 66 an older. Lol. I’m 66.

Seems that same thing here!! Forty hp has so much more torque, that I let go the helm for maybe 2 seconds and the boat steered itself into the marsh grass. The old helm does not work with the high torque engines, called 'no feed', and works fine now. I do hope nobody gets offended by these.

Those are hilarious Harris!!! Great post Gordon!

Maybe it's time to require a license to drive a boat insurance should be mandatory.

Oregon requires a boating card to drive a power boat

All of that sounds great but it still won’t stop fools from being fools and drunks from being drunks. Most boating accidents are caused by too much alcohol consumption. A friend I worked with was a deputy sheriff with our county marine division and he brought a lot of pictures of boat accidents to work to show me. Most all were alcohol involved. Some of them were fatalities.

No more mandates please. Next you'll have to fill out forms for bait!
