Incredible. I pray Jean is ok. Pricing is unconscionable. Stay safe and get some rest. Make sure to get her personal alarm checked out…..just sayin’.

¡YES!= ¡¡¡"Jump ON" someone, about that alarm!!!... I've already asked our Creator, to take special notice of the whole situation, down there... I will be asking HIM periodically, to "keep an eye on" both you and your wife. Thankfully, y'all were capable of getting in and out of there, with a diagnosis and a plan of action (sounds like)... Yeah, if it weren't for various insurances of mine over the years; I'd've ended up "a biology frog" decades ago!!!

I’m glad she was able to come home! That’s a scary way to spend a Sunday. Hope the new meds get her back to normal. You’ve got lots of prayers coming you and Jean’s way. God bless you both.

Prayers for you and your wife Robert. My parents were in a senior living community and EMS was always close by. Glad they were there fairly quickly.

Around 2:00 A.M. my wife wakes me up and said she had terrific chest pains and was afraid she was having a heart attack. Since we live in a senior complex, she tried to use her personal alarm, but it did not respond. So she used mine and it wasn't long before we had a total of at least 5 EMS men here to take her to the emergency room. I follow in our car.

We spend the rest of the day, from about 3:00 AM until around about 6:00 PM today before they release her. Did a bunch of tests. She had chest pains and Afibrilllation (I think) was what they called it.

Came home with a new blood thinner and hopes that her
diagnosis is correct. That emergency room was packed, they had patients on hospital beds in the hall, and once I said are you going to put Jean in the hospital. The answer was 'we cant, there's no room!" Since we had arrived so early we had a room in the E.R.

Our RX for the blood thinner was $37 with our medical plan. The pharmacist said it would have been $617 without a plan! Amazing. Just Sayin...RJS

That's a scary day RJ. Our thoughts and prayers for you and Jean. Definitely get her alarm repaired or replaced. Doesn't do you any good if it doesn't work. Drug prices are out of control, and that's one of the things that drives up insurance prices.
Glad she's ok.

Well Robert, I'm glad everything turned out okay for you and your wife!
Medical Emergency care in Round Rock is the best in the country! Period.
Baylor, St. David's, and Seton are all the best in the business.

More than likely your wife did not need to stay overnight or another day, if they discharged you. If she would have required it, I'm certain a team of cardiologist surgeons were on standby.

I'm glad you were able to go back home.

Of course, prayers that your wife recovers fully.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What most people don't realize is that packed ERs in Texas are not just because of Covid. With more than 1 million illegal immigrants entering Texas on a monthly basis we are over whelmed. YES, 1 MILLION.

I don't mean to make this political but sadly the rest of the country views this as a Texas problem. Currently immigrant children are being flown by the plane loads all over America by the current administration. Several large planes leave Texas every night. Eventually and far too late, the rest of the country will realize how horrible and mismanaged this situation truly is.

To balance humane care against the liberties of legal citizens is thankless and disheartening work. Sadly it must be done. To do so without transparency or a plan is just disgusting in my opinion.

I'm glad you and your wife are okay. Thank you for pointing out the not so obvious experience. I hope your wife is able to see her PCP and cardiologist to get her medications and condition in order.

I'm glad you chose Round Rock Tx. as your new home.

Scary situation Robert. AFIB happened to me 3 times and was lucky to get thru it fine. The last time was during Covid. Went in at 9AM, admitted around 1, the meds got me to a normal heart rate and I felt fine. About 5 my cardiologist came in and said "you are doing fine and this hospital is full of Covid. I don't want you here and I'm signing your discharge papers". Asta la vista. I'm guessing they put your wife on Eliquis, outrageous price. Hoping for the best for her.

R J , I'm so happy to hear your wife is out of the woods. Be kind to her as she continues her recovery, as scared as you were, it was way more ( if that's possible ) traumatic for her, and she may be acting a little different than what you are accustomed to. Be extra patient and loving, and be grateful things didn't turn out worse. We're here for ya Brother........

Scary situation. Hope the blood thinner solves the problem. Crazy drug prices! You're probably lucky you didn't stay at the hospital due to Covid.
