We all might "Do WELL"; To take the time, to ✓✓ the ingredients of the "Hand Sanitizer" (that we SHOULD all have onboard)... The FDA had seized and rejected some, coming out of China, recently. The "major malfunction" of the product; seems to be, that there is a high % of Methanol mixed in with the Ethanol... Methanol Is NOT an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitizers and should not be used due to its toxic effects. Skin exposure to Methanol can cause dermititis, as well as transdermal absorption with systemic toxicity..." Look for a hand sanitizer with NO METHANOL, when shopping for more. ... Just a word to the wise... Better days are comin'.

Thanks for the "heads up!" Just because a product is on a store shelf, or available for on-line purchase...it does not necessarily imply that it is 100% fool proof in some fashion. Good idea to read labels and know what kind of ingredients can be harmful!

I'm thinking that you have found a good use, for any containing the Methanol, that people might already have bought! ... ¡Good Thinking!

I use 91% Alc. no 70%. 70% leaves a film. Don't bother buying 100% 5 mins after you take the cap off it is 91%. It sucks the mositure right out of the air.

YUP because alcohol is a water based solvent. It’s used as racing fuel because octane is very consistent but it absorbs water especially in a humid environment. It’s the same reason alcohol In gasoline absorbs h2O

And it kills viruses and bacteria. I also use 91% for cleaning as it leaves no residue, heat sinks, ect.

You got THAT right, Jim... I had ACTUALLY came to that particular decision, about 20 years ago; but, some things I've recently bought from "American Companies" (off the internet); does, in fact "start out" in China... I'm gonna "tighten up" about all that, ... Make these "online vendors" VERIFY that the products are NOT of Chinese origins. Bunch'o cheap/ cheesy CRAP; that, for all I know; they could be "taking care to" pack a few exotic BUGS (lice, mites, fleas, SCABIES... Hell; I'm NOT going to "risk it") I'm not purposely buying 1 more item of anything, that was "Made in China"!!!

remember?

b4 wal mt took over the retail world, tween 30 pr 40 yrs ago,old sam was still alive. the stores were smaller and didnt have much fresh grocery. BUT sam waltton believed in buy american. things sure have changed at wally world.
if you get stuck there waitin 4 ur better half to do some shoppin grab yr kids [or gks] have them go get 10 random items. try 2 guess the % NOT made in china, closest wins. the results are usually saddening. there are other countries that make cheap stuff[ india, nam, korea etc] but their goal is surviving; not ruling the planet.

You make a good point, smitty. ... I'm not INSISTING that ALL of everything I own, was made in America, by Americans; I'm all for "a healthy foreign trade" ... But, too many things that I had gotten, even many years ago, that were "Made in China" were (even for the ridiculously low price) a REAL disappointment.
