Gmon fellows. My well plan trip to the lilly pond didn't go as planned. I spent time thinking what I needed to take. Use to taking plenty. Even went to W-mart n sportsman warehouse looking for something Eyecrosser recommend. Neither had it. Before leaving I reduced inventory even more. Drove almost 1hr some dense fog. Got to the state park that pond was in. Also another pond there that's been loosening water n gravel ramp in bad shape. I thought if road to lilly pond was underwater I fish other pond. Got to ramp pond entrance closed. I crossed towpath bridge down the hill around the turn to find since my last trip things changed. The park service had no parking signs everywhere. Knee high rocks blocked only open space I could have unloaded. Water was up you could barely see the lilly pads. To say I was disappointed would be n understatement. Since my former dil sold my canoe I'll be buying another. I'm fishy that pond. Hope the no fishing signs are up there. Sorry guys only pics I have are these. Fred I was ready to try topwater with my Berkeley. Also wanted to try the black max n the speed stick. Even had new coopers on my old girl πŸ˜•πŸ˜•

RJ I've waited so long to get out again I just can't believe it. Best part of 2hrs just to test new ratchet straps. I haven't been this bummed out for a long time. I really wanted to try out the Berkeley fiberglass rod I go out of I'm free take me box.. plus the speed stick n new reel. Not all days go as planned. I told wife I deal better with canoes than kayaks I'll getting another one. Next time I get there it will probably be no fishing. Times like now I take a few deep breaths n say well at least I'm still alive. Bummed but alive 😊😊

Bric I've had it at other places n it's a fun little boat to be in. Very stable. I have a 55lb minn kota for on it that does great. This time with all the pads I just took a paddle n a push pole. Was set up for topwater. Some punching. There is a small lake close to there but fishing not very good especially topwater. I had no crankbaits spinner bait swimbaits no much of anything. Plus wind always blows thur that valley. I had no anchor either. This is why I try if possible to check area day before. Oh well that's life but I'm really disappointed. First time out in months. I'll darn sure be getting another canoe. Pond boat is great but too heavy n awkward to handle easily.

That sucks Grizz, why do they always have to change stuff that we like? Looks like a great setup on the pond boat. Looks like you'll have to try the rods somewhere else. You'll figure out something. Good luck my friend.

It certainly looks like you had put a lot of time, effort, and planning into this trip, for nothing. That does suck the big one.

Thanks Fred federal parks service did the same thing a Harpers Ferry WVa. Flytier n I was trying to get together to do some catfishing down there. They blocked every parking place for miles on the Md side of the Potomac. Only place to park is boat ramp up river. Be at least a 2 to 3 mile walk to where we wanted to be. Part of that was because people was partially blocking one lane of traffic. If they don't put up a no fishing sign I'm going back. It's personal now. Told Bug I'm buying another canoe. I like the one I had. 😊😊

That's what I said Spirit. To top it off on way back home I got behind a jackwad doing 40 in a 55 zone. I couldn't pass. Been a long time since I had road rage like that. I had to control myself. I will go back with a canoe. Its lighter n I can get it in the small gap they left. I like my pond boat but it's close to 150lbs. Was a day when that was not a problem. Have a good evening brother πŸ‘πŸ‘
